Bussin' Birria. If the search for good Mexican food doesn't get you here, then I can't help your taste buds.
VIBE The place is clean with sports playing on mounted TVs. You'll order at the counter and they'll call your number when your food is ready.
FOOD They've got a large assortment of drinks and food. We ordered the hibiscus 🌺 drink, tacos, birria ramen and a lengua (tongue) burrito.
🍜 Birria ramen was a lot of food. Noodles cooked perfectly and the birria was hot, little spicy and meaty. It was a tad too salty for me, but it was great to dip my regular tacos into so this isn't a complaint. Plus, I made more ramen with the leftovers --win double win 😏
🌮 Quite good. Classic Mexican with onion and cilantro. Portion of meat given was solid. 3 tacos would be a good meal. We got 2 carne asada, 1 el pastor, and 1 tripe. (Carne asada is still my top pick for taco!)
🌯 Burrito wasn't my favorite. It was a hefty boy in terms of size, but pinto beans are not my favorite. Not bad but I personally wouldn't pick it.
SERVICE The lady at the counter was patient with us, as I can be indecisive when there are a lot of options. Payment and check out were quick and easy...
Read moreOk i ate there back in december and it was a very enjoyable experience. The quesa birria .. also there was no less than 4 great salsas all very unique with flavor. If i lived in area, I would make this one of my staple places to eat at. So it's july and im back in the area and decide to revisit Red Tacos. What a mistake. I order PLATILLO DE BIRRIA but the plate has no cheese at all and for some reason is including nopales on the side. I approach the cashier and ask about it and she informs me that only the quesa birria includes cheese. I point out that is not on the menu description on the wall behind her. She then proceeds to read me the description but skips over the word cheese listed on the wall, yet reads everything else!! Nopales was not listed in the menu for this item but i didnt point this out to her. I was really shocked and will never return to this place again. There is so many great places for mexican food in indy. The birria was very dry and while not horrible, the experience was lamentable. Most of the salsas gone now and just 2 remain. There is better places like Mexico City Kitchen or El Fandangos to eat at....
Read moreI ordered a birria quasadilla for 15$ and it was absolutely delicious. Before u judge the cost, this quasadilla was a very large size tortilla cut into 3 huge slices. For a big guy i couldnt finish and even saved the last slice for later. Inside the restaurant was very clean and smelled pleasant. Service was short and simple I ordered over the phone and my food was ready in less than 10 minutes, I was in and out the door within 5 minutes and even after ordering over the phone it was still fresh and hot. Absolutely delicious food and great atmosphere. This place seems underrated and should get more recognition. It was absolutely amazing, I see myself eating here again...
