Sian Restaurant & BBQ — Restaurant in Indianapolis

I debated writing this review for many reasons. This restaurant opened just recently but already received a perfect 5 star rating… and that’s what I have a hard time fathoming. My experience here was less than great. Our food and drinks took forever to arrive, we had to wait at least 20mins to get them. They got our food order wrong then proceeded to charge us for it. Food was just “meh”, everything tasted too sweet. My dish wasn’t fully cooked, there was no taste to it. This could have easily been a 2 but I’m bumping it to a 3 because my friend liked her dish. There wasn’t anything that stuck out for me.

(Update) only writing this because they responded with misleading information. You’ve never seen me before, I guarantee you that. That was my first time in the restaurant let’s make that clear. We had to wait 35mins (i fact checked) and friends who have dined here before told me they have to wait longer, up to an hour, at times. Which, of course, if you like the food enough is a “reasonable” wait. We specially ask the waiter i didn’t want meat, just veggies. I appreciate you fixing the order but it was not fully cooked which I can overlook considering the timing. I’ve had japchae multiple times before and it never tasted this sweet so I didn’t think to ask for a...

I chose this restaurant based on its appearance and high rating on Google reviews, but unfortunately, the food and service we received this time did not live up to the rating.

We were seated near the restroom, and several tables in the restaurant hadn’t been cleaned (they were a little bit messy). During our time there around 1–2 PM, there was only one server handling both cleaning and taking orders. The water bottles didn’t appear clean, and it was difficult to get timely service when we needed something. The baby pork ribs were decent, but the other dishes we ordered were quite mediocre. To make matters worse, I saw a hair in the dumplings.

Overall, the restaurant might perform better when it’s fully staffed, clean, and during peak hours. However, during our visit, we were concerned about the hygiene and didn’t receive the level of service we expected.

Ps. It will be also better if it’s not disposable...

The food is SUPER fresh. If you enjoy good asian food with very kind wait staff this is your spot. Lucky for me its right down the road from my home so i will be making this a frequent stop for me and my family.

5 STARS all the way around.

Update, after recieving the bill and paying we realized we were charged for each item individually when what we ordered said something different.

When you are expecting $40-$45 and your bill turns into $72 you are not sure what to do besides not return.

I am unhappy that we were charged for soup that we never asked for. The fried rice should have came with the meal like advertised.

Yall had great food. I have not a single problem with that. But to bring charges for no reason is the reason our family wont...
