Tried to eat here after seeing so many positive reviews, but no luck, we were made to feel unwelcome/we couldn’t get served.
We were greeted & were told we could sit anywhere, but that was where the communication stopped. We waited in a booth (it wasn’t very busy - we were there about an hour & fifteen minutes before they closed) but nobody came to the table or brought us menus. A waitress took an order from a table near us, then took that table’s menus away, but never came to us, never brought us menus, or took drink orders, etc. Someone came in a few minutes after us, and a different waiter went to his table (with a menu), but again, never came over to us.
After waiting a while, and seeing both waitresses back behind the counter, I tried to go up there to get the menus, so we could at least look those over until they had time for us, but again, no luck.
One of the waitresses took a phone call as I was walking up, and the other was engaged in conversation with someone working on the other side of the window. None of the employees acknowledged that I was at the counter, and once the person on the phone started taking a to-go order, and the other two employees kept just talking to each other, it was clear I wasn’t going to get those menus any time soon, so we left.
I don’t know why we had this weird experience, but since it felt so off I wanted to share this as a heads up. Turns out we won’t be trying those potatoes everyone has been...
Read moreMy sister and I stopped by here this past Sunday to try it out for our sisterly brunch. Parking lot was quite full, so had to park across the street at a business not open on Sunday, but it was only a hop away and no one towed us off while we ate so that was a plus. Haha We were greeted warmly immediately upon entering and allowed to sit wherever we pleased. Our waitress was very kind and attentive, and patient with us as we were chatting to catch up, and it took us a minute to decide what we would like to eat. We both chose breakfast foods, even though it was a little past 11. Sister got pancakes, eggs, bacon, and fried potatoes. I got the french toast with a side of bacon and fried potatoes. Everything was yummy. Home cooking with tender love and care poured into it. I will definitely come back to try some other things. We fully appreciated the wonderful service and hospitality, and the good food. We know why the parking lot was full! The only reason atmosphere was rated at 4 was because it's just a smidgen outdated. Not really a bothersome thing, but I try to be honest in...
Read moreI've seen this place survive several owners in the decade plus I've been a customer. Last owner really sucked but I decided to check it out again as there's a new owner. Staff is great but, as breakfast destination, I truly hope Owner reads this and rethinks their meat supplier. Today was my 3rd visit as I'm a steak and eggs guy. 1st two visits they were out of steak. I figured that was a good sign! Wrong....though the ribeye they brought me looked like a decent steak, I've had sirloins and cube steaks that were more tender. I'm not sure what grade is below Choice but....this was it. As to the sausage links my Dad ordered, (and requested well done crispy), absolute crap. I realized quickly why they weren't crispy. It's because thay're the freezer type, from a box meant to be microwaved. The patties he got last week were the same cat-food quality. If I'm gettin my free breakfast at a Motel 6, I'll accept such garbage but Not in a $39.00 meal for 2. I hope ya get it sorted cuz I am the loyal...
