Do not waste your time Just go to Stereo Scope near Jamboree and 73 for a real consistent coffee shop / coffee roasters experience. This is just another cash grab cafĂ©, selling coffee but lacks the business acumen to create brand loyalty. The only thing consistent about this place is the fact that it’s clean. They do not prioritize or care about product consistency and user experience at all. They make this clear by their inconsistency in their use of plant milks. This is not option it’s fact gathered through experience and observation. Less then 5 days ago the woman who ordered before me came back in from her car with her iced latte and asked why it didn’t taste the same. The barista tried to down play it, but I told her right away, it’s different because they stopped using Califia Farms oat milk. She was annoyed and wanted an immediate solution, I suggested she try the Califia Farms Almond milk as it has no sugar and minimal taste. Meanwhile the barista who had no idea of service recovery just offered her a refund. Where I saw a refund and a lost customer. I’ll tell you just as I told the customer that day. This place is inconsistent and I have previously avoided them for months. Because one day it’s Minor Figures oat milk, then next day it’s Califia Farms oat milk, then the next day, it’s Ghost Town oat milk Then one day it’s Califia Farms almond milk then the next day it’s pacific foods. The manager said “We just go with whatever the distributor sends us.” Interesting non of the other OC or LA coffee shops worth going out of your way for allow their vendor to have such control over their business and users experience. Over 2 years of going to Stereo Scope they never change products without a reason and when they do they do it company wide and remain consistent. If you want $6.00 plus a tip for a drink then sell people consistency and lose the attitude when being called out for the inconsistency. As an avid coffee enthusiast typically getting a pour over or an oat milk cappuccino everywhere it’s rather easy to gauge quality and consistency with these two simple drinks. Today Friday October 18th is the day I write this place off for good. When I told the barista my almond cappuccino was not good and tasted burnt he said he was sorry. He didn’t mention they also changed milks again but it was rather evident in taste and how it looked. So I politely asked him to remake it. He said sure, then he took the next 3 people’s order made their drinks and still didn’t start remaking my drink and was even starting to take other people’s order. I then said a refund would be best, so he got his manager. I tried to share my experience with the manager to avoid writing this negative review but he didn’t care one bit. He was all about excuses and cutting me off. He clearly doesn’t know what the LTV of a coffee shop customer is. Lastly I also tried to avoid them as much as possible as they are also part of this whole “cashless” business movement which I think should be banned and avoided when possible. Coffee photo is from Sunday October 13th 2024 when they had Califia Farms almond milk.

On Sunday morning, I went to near Lake Forest area for some business and visited Blue Hummingbird Coffee Roastery and Tasting Room. I usually go to CUP by Blue Hummingbird Coffee next to Irvine Novel Park near my house to drink coffee, but this was my first time here. This cafe is located in the Tripointe Centre business complex, and I was surprised that there were many customers even on Sunday morning. I think it’s because Blue Hummingbird Coffee is popular among coffee lovers in this area. I usually drink Iced Americano, but I tried the Blue Hummingbird Cafe Latte this time, the signature coffee here, as an iced drink. The milk in the cup had a light blue color and was very attractive. The Cafe Latte tasted really sweet and delicious, but honestly, it was too sweet for me. 😅 But people who like sweet coffee will really like it.

Blue Hummingbird is one of our regular coffee spots. They roast their own beans, their special drink flavors are delicious and unique without being too sweet. Their standard coffee options are great as well. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They also have great breakfast food options and gelato! There are a handful of tables inside with a nice patio area with mixed seating outside.

What happened to this place? Coffee was very good when they first opened, but had a really bad latte here. Waste of $5+. Didn’t come for a while, thought I’d give it another try. Person taking my order was so over it, not what you want to see first thing when you’re getting your morning coffee. This guy also had the audacity to toss my pastry bag over the counter to me. If you can’t handle basic decency on the job, why are you even here? Also, all the indoor chairs were being hogged by guests, there was an empty table I could have used, but no chairs. Not sure what the point of opening up a coffee shop with...
