I will start with the good: the food tasted okay. Other than that, I have nothing good to say about my experience here. I didn’t expect much from this location so I walked into this Kaju location thinking I was headed in for a nice meal with mediocre service and a slightly overpriced bill, but somehow it still managed to let me down. When we sat down, they brought us all the side dishes and water as normal except for the fact that there were so no cups brought to us for 10 mins and we had to ask for them. This later happened again with the egg that is supposed to come w the soft tofu we ordered, but this wasn’t my biggest gripe with this location. The lady who served us was so rude and condescending when we had a simple question. We had one lady tell us the bibimbap didn’t come with rice (????) and when we asked the other she had the worst attitude ever and looked at us as if we were stupid. Now I have no problem paying for a good meal, and $30 for a bibimbap and soft tofu would’ve been alright had it not been for the fact that the portions were actually TINY. When they brought the food out there was this moment when I thought I was at a Michelin restaurant and they were serving me a tasting menu. I just can’t justify the price to meal ratio I got served because it was just ridiculous. Also, by the “no rice” comment they meant no rice for the soft tofu, which is just confusing to me because rice must be one of the CHEAPEST ingredients to buy and I must imagine they are not lacking for the money to give us one measly bowl of rice. The best part is they don’t even sell individual bowls of rice so we had to split the rice in the bibimbap. This would’ve been okay had there been MORE THAN TWO BITES OF FOOD IN OUR BOWLS. Overall, horrible experience with rude servers who didn’t drop by one time and portions that belong on a kids menu. Do not recommend, save yourself the hassle and just go to the...
Read moreI always loved kaju but this spot is even better. the employees is what makes it great. I usually eat the usual here because it's what I crave for. I always wanted to try other things but my usual just wins all the time haha
My usual: The highest level of tofu soup with intestines. My friend told me to get oysters and add intestines, and this time I did that. GAME CHANGER!!! SO GOOD! getting this way from now on...always with that, will get beef galbi. my friends and I would just share a combo and order an extra tofu soup so we don't have to share.
New things I tried: Seafood Pancakes - ahhh love it. it is packed with all these seafood. every bite literally has seafood in it. Shrimp, octopus, etc. it's huge too! You either just have to eat that solo and not order anything else or share it with friends. I recommend sharing it. Only thing I would request is have they make it more crispy. Bibimbap... I never tried it at Kaju and wanted to. I couldn't decided which one to choose from. Either the mushroom or seafood. I thought, lets keep this day all seafood. and wow! glad I chose seafood. I now know that I will be ordering this...
Read moreUsually love coming here despite the awful service because the food slaps. Today the service was EXCEPTIONALLY bad and the lady burned my hand because she threw the soondubu down on the table without any consideration that the boiling hot soup might splatter as she drops it carelessly on the table or that the stone bowl could burn someone. I saw her do the same to a different table despite a child sitting so closely to the soup she carelessly tossed down on the table.
The server did not notice nor apologize. She was cussing in Korean under her breath in the middle of service and gave us the check even though we weren’t even finished eating.
When they bussed the table next to us, they were splattering liquid and leftovers from the side dishes/bowls close enough to hit our clothes and shoes. There was food on the ground because of the aggressive cleanup.
Truly, I have NEVER had such AWFUL service here than tonight. Usually I can overlook it because the food is pretty good. However, it was enough to never want to come here again or recommend it to...
