Honeymee — Restaurant in Irvine

My girlfriend first noticed this place one day when we were coming home and just got off the 5. She always wanted to try it but it was always out of the way or she wasn't in the mood for sweets at the time. Flash forward to now, we've been here AT LEAST 4 times and it's a great place to check out when we're in the area to get some food or groceries at Ranch 99.

The space for this establishment is pretty dinky but fortunately it's a dessert place with a pretty limited menu. Here's a breakdown of the items we've tried so far:

Sweetie (4/5): Who would have thought a simple combo of plain soft serve drizzled with some honey on top would be so surprisingly delicious! There's no fancy breakdown of flavors or stages that come out as the ice cream melts in your mouth, it just works!

Honey Hot Tea (5/5): Out of the two honey teas, this one right here is THE one I'll go for 100% of the time, especially if you're feeling under the weather. The honey helps sooth your throat even if you're not coughing up a storm and the taste of honey isn't overwhelming. I'd usually opt for black tea anything but this time, at least for this place, I'll always get the green tea.

Honey Iced Tea (4/5): Not sure what to say here... I can't tell if the ice ruined the goodness of what I described for the Hot Tea, or the whole cinnamon stick just ruined the whole experience for me.

Cookies & Cream Milkshake (3/5): My initial reaction to this was "Awesome! I love Cookies & Cream and I love me some ice cream, I'LL LOVE THIS MILKSHAKE!" Things were great the first several sips but then I felt like the cream taste was overwhelming and ruined the rest of my sweet...

So service really shouldn't matter that much if the product is good right?

To be clear, the product is good 👍 It's actually really good 😊 even though it's light and refreshing, it's still rich and creamy! Making it a filling and even decadent treat. But as for the poor service received from the two passive aggressive girls who clearly prefer to have the shop empty vs filled with customers...

I'll say this, if you arrive here and get the same two girls we did and feel like walking out because of it, maybe don't. You're already here, just get one and get on your way?

As my first experience in Honeymee, it was absolutely incredible. The interior was so welcoming yet aesthetic and it was a perfect place to come with a friend and grab a snack. I ordered the signature Honeymee Ice cream and it was so good. The cashier(Jack) was so nice and considerate and he helped me choose the perfect ice cream. He definitely made the experience much better and I would definitely come back for another snack. Overall, I would recommend people of all ages who are looking for a cold dessert on a hot summer day.
