The Kebab Shop — Restaurant in Irvine

All the way here from SD! Who doesn't like Mediterranean food!! This was my first time trying The Kebab Shop ever and I came here for their Gratitude Giveaway on 10/23/21. They were graciously giving out lunch boxes and wraps while supplies last!! What a treat!

Got here 20 mins before they began the giveaway. The line was mostly full of students. The wait wasn't too bad. They were preparing all the items in the kitchen during countdown so when it starts, the line would move quickly which it did! Service here is fantastic and manager is quite nice and welcoming! Got a free hat at the counter. Woot!

Got to try the lamb and chicken wrap and boxes. Their food tastes really clean. Meaning natural and healthy. Mediterranean in general is healthy but theirs tasted clean! They have a cilantro creamy sauce and the garlic yogurt sauce. Both are good but the green one has a high kick in it! You'll know when you try it. Mix it with the white sauce for balance.

Got the food and was too hungry ate it all without taking photos oops lol. I noticed the food didn't have the pickled purple veggies...was that on purpose? This is why I should have taken photos. They were in the entree photos on the menu screens. Anyway, I think that would have made a difference to...

Terrible customer service. Wrong Order Twice + Overcharged. No resolve, poor quality.

I asked for a Chicken & Lamb shawarma and yellow rice.

I was given a bowl with only lamb, then after clarification, I was then given a wrap with more lettuce and very little lamb, then she forgot the rice and I had to ask for it again.

The I told her again I ordered both chicken and lamb, then she tells me I didn't order chicken and refuses to offer any assistance and runs away to the back. Worker with the big lips is brain dead, her head doesn't work.

How hard is it to Order a Chicken/Lamb Shawarma/Wrap at a Mediterranean food place?!?

Would not recommend.

Barely any meat inside, every time the meat was cold and barley cooked.

The entire place was practically empty, I'd understood if the work was very busy. But it was slow and you'd practically have to be high or something to be this...

I left a feedback review through their QR code in the store but figured this is important for people to know…they do NOT allow substitutions in their foods. For example, if you cannot eat onions they will not sub for cucumber or tomatoes. This is terrible, if you have a food allergy, they won’t respect it, they’ll charge you more to “add” it in. Not like we were subbing a vegetable for a meat…We passed on their fries cause of this issue, the wrap we got wasn’t filled up, and they put onion in it when we said “no onion” lol. I didn’t even want to ask for a remake after the previous debacle, just will suffer with the heartburn and won’t return.

Update: I used their website to contact the owner. They wanted to send a coupon that I wasn’t able to access, and no response to the above...
