Golden Chick — Restaurant in Irving

I would visit this location frequently. I will always buy the catfish combo. I’ve had multiple visits where in my pictures you can clearly see. The fish is overcooked dried out, and I would let the restaurant know. Apparently, I have complained too many times the last time that one of the managers contacted me an email replying to my most recent complaint told me I could come in for a remake. I went to go get my remake and the manager on duty, confronted me and drive-through window about if I don’t like the way how they cook their food I can go somewhere else not the strips that they serve for the price they charge or small. They have given me a strip or two to compensate for the small strips I do appreciate that, but what I don’t appreciate is getting dried out and overcooked food, and then the manager being sarcastic about it. I stopped by Golden Chick to inquire about catering for a party of 25 people, and I had the absolute pleasure of working with Martha, the manager. From the very start, she was kind, patient, and genuinely caring. She took the time to walk me through all the options, even giving me a sample to try while sharing her recommendations.

Martha is a true entrepreneur — you can tell she knows how to run a business and how to treat her customers right. Because of her professionalism and warmth, I felt valued and appreciated from the moment I walked in.

I ended up ordering $250 worth of catering for my get-together, including chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, gravy, coleslaw, and rolls. Everything was fresh, delicious, and a hit with my guests.

Martha went above and beyond to make this an enjoyable and stress-free experience. I will absolutely be doing business with this store again — all thanks to her...

The good....the roll and fries. Also restaurant itself is kind of cute. Other than that not a fan. The chicken fingers were “limp” if that’s a thing.... almost seemed a little underdone. I ordered and paid for an extra ranch. When my order came up there was only 1 ranch so I said that I had ordered an extra ranch. The response was “31cents.” Yes I understand however I already PAID for it. I was stared at then the employee looked back at the screen overhead, (couldn’t possibly take my word for it) to confirm this first then went and got it. Not one word about it other than 31cents. Like seriously people. If I’m gonna drop $8 on a lunch, I’d like a little courtesy and I promise, I’m not trying to steal your ranch cup.
