Black Sesame was the closest place to the hotel I am staying at where a person could get their fix for Korean ramen. While the inside of the restaurant itself isn't certainly anything to write home about, the food more than makes up for the lack of ambiance easily making finds like thjs the best part of venturing out for new places to try. A group of my friends and I were greeted with very warm and friendly service. The menu is varied, containing sushi, ramen, and even some Chinese dishes. I went with a classic Korean ramen with seafood and requested extra spicy. I also ordered a side of kimchi because any good Korean place can be measured only by how good the kimchi, ramen, or bibimbap is. The kimchi was a definite homerun, with a pleasant level of acidity and spice from the fermentation. The seafood in the ramen was not only a very generous portion and contained shrimp, clams, and calamari. I also give my regards to the chef for accommodating the level of spice I wanted because I prefer Korean ramen super spicy and not only did the broth have a great flavor, it also had a very nice kick of heat. My friends seemed to also enjoy their food as well with them ordering ramen, kimchi fried rice, lo mein, edamame, goyza potstickers, and even a bento box. The only small downfall was the restaurant was out of tapioca pearls for boba but nothing I can't solve by investing into my own factory to supply the world with much needed tapioca pearls. Overall the experience was excellent and prices were generous! My meal totaled about $22 which isn't bad considering the portions are massive! If you have an itch for Korean food, Black Sesame is a must try if you are...
Read moreI've tested this theory out, and discovered it is Doordash that was the issue. I went in to the restaurant recently to see if it was the same as when I get it doordashed, and it is not. I take my 1 star review back and give yall 5. Gonna continue to come here and tell everyone about yall 👍 my bad. Yall are the best.
Below was my original review, the top is the update. When this place first opened up, it was so good, and fresh. I LOVED coming here. Then they began getting my order wrong. At least 3 times. And now, my food is soggy and cold when I got it. And now I refuse to go back. Here's what I've posted in doordash:
I specifically asked for no salad, and I wanted fried rice. Always clearly stated or on my instructions. I ended up getting a salad (with no egg roll) and I did not get fried rice. I've been coming here 2-3 times a week for lunch, and this is the 3rd time my order was wrong AND everything was soggy and cold this time. I have told all my friends to try yall out, and now I will tell them about my bad experiences and tell them to not go. I will no longer continue to come back. Yall will no longer get my $60 a week, $240 a month, or $2,000+ a year. Yall need to work on staying consistant and keeping your food fresh. No longer a...
Read moreNOW USUALLY I’d give them 5 stars and I hope they see this review and do better because for the last month or so the quality of the cooking has declined a lot! I’m aware that they’ve gotten a huge influx of business recently and so they’re trying to meet the rush demand HOWEVER this type of food doesn’t need to be rushed and you all need to go back to taking your time. I’m a loyal customer, I eat here at least 3x a week and I’ve been eating here for at least 5 months now. It’s really disappointing to see this place decline like that when they really had the best quality food. If your customers can’t wait for the food to be properly cooked and you all are going to keep rushing the food then I will gladly stop spending my money here. My white fish Katsu was over fried and there’s was more onion bed than fish, this dish is too expensive for the main dish NOT to be the main dish. The egg rolls as well have been over cooked as well as the chicken.PLEASE GO BACK TO TAKING YOUR TIME! I used to happily wait 20 mins or more...
