What the Biryani is a delicious biryani spot in Irving! "What the Biryani" in Irving has quickly become my go-to spot for mouthwatering biryani and more. Their tandoori murgh and tawa fish are absolute standouts, and I can't get enough of them! The biryani here is a true culinary delight. The blend of spices, tender meat, and fragrant rice creates a symphony of flavors in every bite. It's flavorful without being overwhelmingly spicy, making it perfect for all palates. And the portion sizes are generous, so you'll definitely leave satisfied. Now, let's talk about the tandoori murgh – it's incredibly juicy and succulent. The smoky flavor from the tandoor adds an extra layer of deliciousness. Pair it with their flavorful naan or rice for a fantastic meal. And the tawa fish! It's a must-try for seafood lovers. The fish is perfectly cooked and coated with a delicious marinade that's bursting with flavors. It's a unique and delightful dish you won't find everywhere. The service is friendly and prompt, and the ambiance is cozy, making it a great spot for both dine-in and takeout. Plus, their prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you receive. Whether you're a fan of biryani, tandoori dishes, or seafood, "What the Biryani" is a culinary gem in Irving that you shouldn't miss. Highly recommend trying their tandoori murgh and tawa fish – you won't be disappointed!

Authentic Home-Style Vegetarian Meals – A Hidden Gem in Dallas We tried the vegetarian meal (platter) today, priced at just $10. While the portion is limited, it’s more than enough for one person and incredibly satisfying. The meal included: • One vegetable curry (eggplant) • Palakoora pappu (spinach dal) • Carrot coconut fry • Sweet pongal • Coconut/peanut roti pachadi (the star of the show!) • Crisps • Chapathi (tortilla) • Curd • White rice • Pulav (flavored rice) Each item was thoughtfully prepared and tasted better than the last — no overpowering spices or masalas, just the perfect balance of flavors. The coconut/peanut roti pachadi was the highlight — bursting with flavor and something you’d expect only from a mom’s or grandma’s kitchen back in India. It truly reminded me of home-cooked meals and the warmth that comes with them. For the taste, quantity, and price, this might be the best vegetarian meal I’ve had in Dallas — or even in the U.S. over the past several years. If you’re reading this, don’t miss out — you might be overlooking a true gem of a place. Highly recommend! ————————- Disclaimer/note: Please check with the restaurant directly regarding any allergies or specific dietary preferences before ordering.

Nizam’s Kitchen is an authentic, Indian restaurant located in Irving, Texas. I went on a business trip to Texas (from New Jersey and New York). On the last night of my weeklong trip, I discovered Nizam’s Kitchen. Dining at this restaurant made me feel like I struck gold or discovered a sizable pocket of oil. Nizam’s Kitchen served up a wide variety of scrumptious meals. The food was absolutely mouthwatering. I enjoy eating spicy foods. I made sure I loaded up on additional whole peppers. The service at Nizam’s Kitchen was utterly amazing. A young lady, named Kriti, was my server. She made impeccable meal recommendations. Kriti’s vibe, professionalism, and expertise made dining at Nizam’s Kitchen memorable. She thoughtfully makes a positive impact on each restaurant guest’s overall dining experience. Kriti strongly deserves a raise for her hard work. This is what I ordered: 1 Chicken Tikki Masala Curry Rice (spicy) 1 Bullet Naan 1 Vegetable Keema Biryani (spicy) 1 Topo Chica 1 Stuffed Bajji (3 pieces) 1 Aloo Samosa (2 pieces) I highly recommend that you dine at Nizam’s Kitchen. Tell the restaurant staff that I sent you. Peace be with you.

After driving past the restaurant many times, we finally decided to enter and dine-in, a couple of weeks back. The restaurant is very clean & simple and was empty. We ordered Chicken Dum Biriyani (Family pack-spicy) and Chicken 65. We somehow had an instinct that the food will be good, because of the overall feeling when we entered the restaurant. And it is fantastic.

Taste & Flavor: 5 stars Appearance: 5 stars Quantity: 5 stars Price: 5 stars Satisfaction: One Hundred Percent.

We again had the exact same dishes on New Year's Eve, after which I'm sitting down to write the review. A little background: we are born & raised in Hyderabad and Biriyani lovers.

Taste & Flavor - Biriyani: It is perfect. I felt like that when I had my first bite and my last bite, just a few minutes back. I do believe that they have arrived at the recipe after a great deal of research, because it is a bit unique. I also believe that they make the Biriyani with a lot of care and focus, because of its sheer authentic flavors and the aroma. When I first took a bite out of the chicken piece, I just fell in love with how beautifully it is marinated. Just so even and the right amount. The size of the pieces is perfect too. Their Salan has the best taste, again a bit unique.

Taste and Flavor - Chicken 65: It is perfect. The size and shape of the pieces is just right. The magical touch is the garnishing of tiny garlic pieces on the top. It adds that solid touch.

I've a request to the Restaurant: Please do not ever change the recipe of the Chicken Biriyani and please be always consistent with its authenticity.

Thanks to everyone at 'What The Biriyani'! Please continue doing the awesome job that you guys are doing.

Here’s a detailed restaurant review draft for you, based on what you shared about Nizam’s Kitchen, Irving: If you’re looking for authentic Indian non-vegetarian food in Irving, Nizam’s Kitchen is a must-visit. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel welcome and the atmosphere set the stage for a memorable meal. The highlight of my experience was not just the food itself, but the personalized service. Chef Tej went above and beyond—when I mentioned the chicken and mutton dishes I was craving, he prepared them exactly to my taste. It’s rare to find a chef who takes the time to understand and recommend recipes in such a thoughtful way, and the result was outstanding. The chicken dishes were tender, perfectly spiced, and full of flavor, while the mutton recipes were rich, hearty, and cooked to perfection. Every bite reflected authentic Indian flavors and the chef’s attention to detail. Portions were generous, making it excellent value for the quality.

The service throughout the evening was attentive but not overbearing. The staff checked in often to ensure everything was perfect, and I genuinely felt cared for as a guest. Overall, Nizam’s Kitchen combines flavorful food with warm hospitality. Chef Tej’s passion for cooking shines through in every dish, and his willingness to create customized recipes makes the dining experience truly special. If you love Indian non-vegetarian food—especially chicken and mutton—I highly recommend visiting and letting Chef Tej surprise you with...
