Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Irving

Previous 3 star. Updated. Our simple order for 2 DIET Cokes was filled with 2 Dr Peppers again. Usually we don't find out until we are back home. This has happened at least a dozen times this year.

I am literally pouring money down the drain when I go here.

I won't be wasting my dollars at this location again for a while. Sadly, this location is close to our neighborhood and has been good in the past. Now however…the staff is generally terrible (all shifts). Management take note! They are hurting this location.

We have waited 20 minutes for our orders multiple times. Missing items. Trash cans are overflowing. The dumpster is left open and stinks. About half of the orders bays are broken. And worst is the fact that the staff parks their personal vehicles in open bays (including the few of working ones) and in handicap without tags. This level of work ethic likely has unseen impacts inside the kitchen as well. Gross.

You need to get a training crew in here asap. Likely management needs some help as well to prevent this rapid decline and turn the location around.

I can go on and on. I kept hoping there would be a change and improvement, but it's worse than ever. Maybe it will be...

WORST customer service ever. I made 2 trips the other day just to get the right order (on my 30 minute lunch break). It took 30 minutes for my food to come out initially and it was cold and I needed to get back to work, so I had someone else go pick up my remake order. When they arrived they were gone another 30 minutes and said after they sat there awhile that they pressed the button and asked how long it would be before the order comes out, they ignored them and made the button solid red to where the person couldn't press it anymore. When they got back with the remake, their drink that they got from the first order tasted like carbonated water. I called to speak with the manager "Jessica" (i don't think that was her real name) she was very rude and non chalant and just held the phone and eventually hung up on me. I called back and got the corporate number and they gave a full refund. This place is ran by a bunch of silly kids. I wont be back, and since they wanted to act non chalant about my order that's why I acted non chalant...

So here's my problem. I usually love this location. I have volunteered here for various school projects on and off throughout the years. But tonight was beyond unacceptable. The website said they closed at midnight. I placed a mobile order around 9:06pm, and got there within about 5 minutes of placing the order. All the lights were out, and there was clearly no one there. Since I already paid through the app, I waited about 30 minutes just to make sure, but nobody came. There were no signs or anything saying that they closed, and my order clearly went through. They at least should have placed signs and blocked mobile orders or something. This whole thing was beyond rude and disrespectful to all of their guests. I have been in food service for years and I understand not having enough people to stay opened, but at least say something somewhere so people don't have bad experiences trying to wait for something that will never come.
