Worst experience in Islamorada. Arrived saturday 08/12 @7:30am to have a beautiful dockside breakfast and ended up with the worst experience in Islamorada. We stood at the front for 4 minutes while everyone working just continued to setup, carrying cambros of condiments. Finally, someone greeted us and handed us a set of menus and cutlery saying "sit wherever you'd like". We sat at one of the 38-40 empty outside tables. There was only one other party of 3 in the entire restaurant. As soon as we sat we were screamed at from across the dock in a lovely tone by Regina. "You can't sit there!" she exclaimed. Regina has no tack and is extremely blunt and rude. She is no doubt hurting the reputation of this establishment. My wife ordered the French toast with her hashbrowns extra crispy. The French toast was just an average donut cut in half and heated. The hashbrowns arrived extra microwaved, limp and tasting heavily of freezer frost. They also came covered in cold from the fridge shredded cheddar cheese and green onion to cover the soggy, oily wreck that was her hasbrowns. We didnt ask for the cheese ontop. They did it to hide the hashbrowns. Usually, hashbrowns come crispy and flat from the griddle. These were shredded and reheated. Her bacon was burnt almost black to a crisp and at the same time completely floppy. Clear indication of microwaving. They even tried to hide the bacon under the hashbrowns. I ordered the lobster scramble. Absolutely cruel ratio of lobstermeat. The "red pepper aioli" is quit literally mayonnaise and paprika. The 2 slices of Swiss on top were heated just enough for them to sweat out their oil and keep its square shape but not melt. The cheese oil combined with the mayonnaise oil was absolutely inedible and like hot throw up on eggs. SEE PICTURE! Needless to say we left 90% of our food. Regina didn't even ask if everything was OK. Complete lack of customer service skills and empathy. It was clear she doesnt care if we liked it or not. She's seems to be used to people leaving all their food because the best part is she didn't ask us if we need a to go box. She just said in the rudest tone I've ever heard "gimme your plate", "if not the birds will make a mess." DO NOT FALL FOR INSTAGRAM OR TIKTOK VIDEOS OF THIS PLACE! Service was a 1, food was a 1. Alabama Jack's does it 100x better and with 100x more class that that waitress will wherever have.
REGINA WAS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT I EXPECT AND LOOK FOR IN A FOOD SEFVICE WORKER. WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. THAT LADY IS RUDE...

There was literally ONE thing on the menu that I could eat: a $15 caprese salad that frankly didn't have enough basil. I think I had one basil leaf chiffonaded for the whole salad. I get that like 90% of the restaurants are seafood restaurants in the Keys, but it really makes it hard for those of us who can't eat certain foods.
The one thing that annoyed the entire group is that you are absolutely not, under any circumstances, allowed to split the bill. It's 2023. We HAVE the technology. Why make it hard on people?
I will give them points for atmosphere. Once you pass the quirky little souvenir shops and their dollar bill-covered entryway, you can have the pleasure of enjoying gorgeous views and watchng pelicans harrass tourists trying to feed the tarpon while you have your meal. It was honestly fun watching the pelicans beg for fish that clearly isn't for them. They reminded me of my puppy back home.
Service was pretty decent and the waiter even followed up with us when our food was running a bit behind to let us know it would be out soon - it was out to us about two minutes later. I appreciated how often he checked in with the table and made sure everyone was happy.
So all-in-all this was an okay place. It's a bit pricey, especially when you're limited to one menu item. Cocktails were abit pricey, too. The atmosphere and service does make up for it a bit, but if you have a choice I wouldn't recommend it for vegetarians or Celiacs. Good luck if you're both. I also wouldn't recommend for group dining unless everyone has cash on hand. On the other hand, my boyfriend really enjoyed the Blended Burger and I stole a few of his fries and they were...
Read moreWhere do I even start. The service was pretty slow. My burger was decent and the fries were good. My wife said the shrimp tacos were ok. The kid ate the fries but not the tenders. My mother in-law ordered the Cuban and the pork was bad. It was slimy and smelled bad but the waiter said the just got it in that day, but you can see it in the picture and it does not look fresh. They took it off the bill and we thought that would be the end of the bad experience. I left my card for my wife to pay and went to the restroom. When I got back they said they thought I left my mask but I just got done putting it back in my pocket. That’s when we realized a RANDOM MASK ended up on our table some time after we sat down!!! I’m pretty sure it fell out of the menu when me and my kid were making walls out of the menus waiting on everyone to order and it blended in with out black masks. We all have the same style but ours are different from this one and it’s extremely dirty. I felt like the manager was indirectly calling us a liar and kept trying to put the blame on anyone but their negligence. She even tried to say did someone drop it onto our table as they walked by, like that would be something that could even happen and the person or us wouldn’t notice. Also my side of the table was right next to a fan and no one walked by because the space isn’t that big and it’s out of the way to walk that way. I’m positive it had to be between the pages of the menu and they are not taking the time to wipe down the menus. Or it came out on a plate which I don’t think happened and would be way worse. At the end of the day it was a bad experience that was handled poorly to say the least. That’s the last $80 they will get from our family. Sunset grille and raw bar is great place...
