Stopped Sunday, 04/16/23 on reccomendation from a local. Ordered Carbonara pasta, and a Calzone. The Carbonara noodles were swimming in what I can olny call puddled water... no "sauce". Later, as the noodles were moved around, for the last couple bites, the starch in the noodles combined with the egg on the bottom of the dish to make it like French scrambled eggs. The Pancetta that is supposed to be used to give that smokey, bacony flavor was some thick bacon that seemed boiled, so that all of the texture and flavor was gone! The "Parmasan Cheese" on the top was the "powder type" that was totally flavorless. The whole thing was like eating flavorless, boiled noodles... no Panchetta, no smokey, no white wine, no garlic, no creamy egg sauce. The best flavor in it was the salt and pepper I put on it! NO KIDDING. Had my girlfriend attest. She agreed. She got the Calzone. On the other hand. it had so much garlic in it that it made it disgusting! The tomato sauce used was tasteless. The dipping red sauce was just that... RED SAUCE. It was something between tomato sauce out of a can and cheap hot sauce out of a bottle! THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU DO NOT USE QUALITY INGREDIENTS and have PEOPLE WHO DON'T CARE cooking and waiting! I asked the middle aged waiter if this was always what the Carbonara looked like. He gave me the "Oh ya! It's always like that. That's the Carbonara." I told him that it sould not be like that, that it should be a creamy egg sauce and before I could say "boiled bacon" he walked away. Thanks! Won't ever be back! Was going to get a pizza, but figured that if it had the same sauce the Calzone had then it wasn't worth it. I love to give good reviews, but no way! This place is really bad and doesn't care. That said, the atmosphere was nice. 4 TVs over the bar. Newer nice wooden tables and cool wooden seat and back steel chairs. The Blood Orange beer was delicious, but that's not enough. Unfortunately, we didn't take photos, but for anyone from that staff reading this review here is what Carbonara SHOULD look like! And get some good Parmasan. MY GAWWWWWWD! That should be the KEY "good taste" of the dish! That's makes the dish even if you use nothing else! Cacio e Pepe is a three ingredient pasta, but good Romano Cheese is what makes it! Use quality cheese...
Read moreWe I first walked into the place I didnât know what to think. Just looked like a bar room that serves pizza and other stuff. We sat on the outside patio. We took a look at the menu and ordered what we wanted. Let me start with the in-laws. Mother- Strawberry chicken salad. - Very good and way better than any other place. Father and sister shared pasta dish Alla Alfredo Sister- Wow! This is very good! Like pasta is normally heavy and this is not!!! Father- Oh oh ohhhhhhh. This is amazing!!!! Whatâs in this sauce!!! I canât wrap my hands around it!!! Now to the wife. Wife Pear and cheese Fiocchi- oh this is fantastic! Like it totally works! The pear the cheese and pasta all bend perfectly! Me- got me a burger. For being a pasta pizza place the burger was very nice. Cooked the way I wanted. Very juicy. Fine burger indeed. I got the garlic fries as the side. Not let me stop right here. Now when I picture garlic fries I picture grease, oil, melting butter dripping all over the place. But these fries came out neat and fresh without being saturated in oil. The flavor was fantastic and the fries perfectly golden and crispy. I just want to go back and bring a box home.
So we got some desserts. The key lime The tiramisu And peach cobbler. So the key lime was good. But I love my wifeâs more. No offense to the chef. But Father disagreed with me on this one. And it is seasonal too. The tiramisu.- very nice. Sister loved this one the most especially the espresso flavor. She loved how the flavor popped from the espresso. Wife enjoyed as well. The Peach Cobbler. 100% the best darn dessert I have had and a restaurant. I have no words but if I could speak for the ice cream on top it would say, take my breath away because Iâll stop the world and melt with you!!!!! Wife stopped and eyes rolled back. Mom- mmmmm thatâs the winner right there!!!!
All in all we loved this place. We come up to the delta once a year and we are upset that we have never tried Mannys before. We shall return next year...
Read moreOn the afternoon of 5/30/21 - my sister-in-law, a resident of Isleton, and I (Pacifica) went to this fine eating establishment which she was already familiar with. We first chose a table outside and the waiter was so kind to bring over an umbrella to shade us from the sun it being 96°, however, we then decided to move inside to eat and also order to-go. We ordered a bottle of Chardonnay at the waiterâs suggestion instead of 2 glasses and then ordered fried calamari to share while we waited for our to-go selections. The calamari was delicious, crispy and prepared perfectly; my only suggestion wouldâve been to serve with Aioli sauce as their accompanying sauce was hot! Waiter brought us 1,000 island for dipping which was a friendly alternative. We left the restaurant with a small Polpetta pizza, large house salad, garlic bread, and a large Mediterranean pizza. Back at the house - my Polpetta pizza had the most perfect fresh crusty bite and the meatballs/cheese - red sauce - topping was delish!!! The best. I had a slice of their Mediterranean pizza and that was also so delicious. (Check their menu .). I left for home with my leftover pizza plus a couple slices of their Mediterranean selection and several slices of the garlic bread. The garlic bread was Yummy - big slices. My Polpetta pizza was great for dinner the following evening - just as fresh coming out of my oven after a quick rewarm! Look forward to again visiting this restaurant that my Isleton family has enthusiastically raved about. The waiter was so kind, patient, professional (thank you!) as we struggled to make our decision of what to order from the plethora of interesting, yummy choices...
