4/25- Catfish Cabin. I went to try their food on a recommendation. I was greeted the minute I walked in and was walked to a table. The host was very friendly. Lydia B. was the server on duty in the back section. She did a great job handling all her customers. I never went without water or felt like I couldn’t ask for anything. Lydia gave all patrons in her section undivided attention. All those in the area were pleased with the service received. Lydia has a good attitude and makes one feel welcomed and comfortable. I ordered the Louisiana Catfish. I was told it the meal comes with Hush Puppies and a choice of white beans or coleslaw with three different oils. The lunch comes with your choice of a baked potato, fries and one more choice. I asked for fries. The meal was a good size. The catfish has a good taste and it is not greasy like some of the others I’ve had. At only $11.99 for the lunch special, I felt this is reasonable for a lunch meal that is comfort food. They offer other options all at reasonable prices. I specifically went to try the Louisiana catfish. I had leftover Hush Puppies but made sure to eat the rest 😋 If it seems like it’s out of the way, don’t let it stop you from enjoying an amazing meal. Make sure you ask for Lydia’s section. I’m sure you will get great customer service.

This was our first time visiting the Catfish Cabin and we had heard so much good about it. However, the food we received was not what we expected. One of my husband's "filets" was nothing more than a child's "strip" and the boiled shrimp were soggy in whatever seasonings they cook them in. The stuffed crab didn't taste like it had any crab in the stuffing, but was overwhelmed with red peppers. The fried shrimp and the fish were not even crispy, but limp instead. This was not the food we had expected to receive after hearing and reading such good reviews. Our waitress, "Bubbles" was absolutely wonderful! She was so friendly and kind. She kept our drinks filled and had everything out to us quickly. I wish all waitresses could learn to have her beautiful smile and personality and help their customers the way she did. Thank you Bubbles. You're AWESOME!

This has been our go to restaurant for years for fish so I hate they are going down in the quality of their fish. My 2 pieces were tiny, like 1 piece cut into 2. Very dry and crusty, barely any meat from the fish. Husband got the 3 peace and same with his. He could not finish it. My baked potato was not fully cooked. Slaw and hush puppies are still the best. Service was good. 30.00 + was way too much to pay for what we got. I sure hope they listen to us regulars so they won’t have to close. We have been eating there many years. First picture is their fish from past years, 2nd picture is a year so and now each piece we had was 1/2 the size of the 2nd picture. Wish I had taken a picture. Hate to complain but if we don’t how do they know why we are not coming back?

Honestly, the extremely unprofessional and surprisingly rude manager spoiled the entire meal. It was my first time eating there and will most likely be my last.

My partner and I decided to share a meal, as I wasn't really that hungry. Much to our surprise, the bill was nearly $26. The meal was only $17 and the diet coke was $2.50.

After closer inspection, I noticed a charge of $5.50 for hush puppies and slaw. We assumed that they were included in the dinner because every other table had hush puppies and slaw. However, because we shared a meal we were charged for them.

Of course I said something, as this wasn't a buffet and we only received one serving of slaw and did not order extra baskets of hush puppies or slaw. I fail to see the difference between sharing this meal versus any other restaurant, where they would charge for a single meal, with the exception of buffets.

The unsympathetic manager abruptly left the conversation mumbling indecipherable words, which we could only assume were words we didn't want to hear in the first place. His only response to our inquiry was to sarcastically say "it says it in the menu."

It's not like we ordered 5 extra plates of hush puppies. Had I been by myself, the meal would have cost $5.50 less, but because I ate a piece of his fish and a chicken tender (which tasted like fish), we got charged $5.50 extra. Absolutely ridiculous! The policy could easily be rectified by serving only one free basket of hush puppies and charging extra for subsequent orders.

Instead, this "manager," was unable to manage the situation. Walking away from an uncomfortable situation rarely solves anything. His actions left us feeling that we too should walk away from the situation, without paying the bill!

I had initially been excited about trying this place but soon realized that the hype was simply "much ado...

We ate there this afternoon arrived at 430. There were two waitresses in our area to the right of the entrance. We were the 4th couple seated. The table behind us had 4 ladies their waitress was young y’all lady knew what service is. Our was old blonde finally got to our table we knew what we wanted and ordered as soon as she got to table. Table seated behind us got their food in as soon as possible. We were brought slaw no fork to eat with blonde finally made her way back with coffee we ask for a fork. When we finally got our food the fish and baked potato was cold and she hadn’t even ordered our cheese bites. I realize they had Freed Hardemen coming in. We should have already had our food before they arrived. Never received a ticket to pay just carried paper she lost off tray and paid from it. We go to your location every week to eat but tonight Feb. 3 was awful. This woman was very disoriented as soon as she found Freed was coming. When I complained at checkout I was told they had to get Freed in and out. I let her know I was there long before Freed. I would given 0 for rating if it was possible. My name...
