Eddie & Rubye's Snack Bar — Restaurant in Jackson

Great friendly service....UPDATE...on March 19, 2022..I did an online order for a 4 piece Trout Dinner...the same meal that I get ever time I go here. When i go to get my meal the tall guy who works outside asks for my name...a tell him and he proceeds to go get it...l realize I may have used my other bank card with my maiden name and i tell him it may have a different last name for my pick up order due to my bank card ...he yells something to me and I continue to wait...he comes out again and this time with a louder rude tone "LOOK WHAT NAME IS ON your CARD YOU USE"....with the same rude tone he gave me... I yell out my full name including my maiden name...and I stated to him about how I heard from my cousin how he can have an attitude with people...he stated to me he don't have an attitude...then I stated I will be doing the survey on you....and then walks away and returns with my food. When he returns with my food he asked could I pull up my order on my phone. I could not find it at the time because I actually did the order on my tablet and my tablet did not have Wi-Fi service in the car but I did tell him that I ordered a 4 piece trout for 13.90... after about a minute of me not being able to open the tablet's Wi-Fi, he finally gave me my food and stated he did not want a mix up cuz people come in with the same names.... I was okay with that but it was just the way he talked to me there is a better way he could have stated it I'm not changing the Stars on Eddie and Ruby because I have been coming here for years I just wanted people to be aware of the person that is...

It's our first time here, so we weren't sure if we could call in our order ahead of time. There's two ways to order, pull up to the "drive up" car lane, someone will come to your car and take your order, or through Waitr for pick up/delivery. We got there around 5pm, there were several cars in front of us, but they are fast, and the food is made fresh to order.

We got the pan trout dinner (4 pan trout, 2 sides) with double fries, and 3 piece catfish filet sandwich (really 6 pieces), all fried hard. We waited 15mins at most. I was so excited to see my bundle of joy, white steaming bag of fried goodness delivered right to my car window.

I got a whiff of the fresh, hot, fried fish, now I just had to take a peek (shouldn't have done that). It was over, I'm done, no way am I making home without a nibble... Y'all they piled this so high 😆 I got like the whole fish tank in my bag.

Everything was so well seasoned, I did the happy dance all 35 minutes home. By the time we made it back, there was only 1 pan trout filet left 🤣 The price is AMAZING! I couldn't find a menu online, so I looked at their menu through Waitr. If you're on a time crunch, I highly recommend ordering it through Waitr for pick up, the price difference is only .10-.30 cents, definitely worth saving you some time.

Carlyn M. Hicks told me about it for a while now, I just haven't had a chance to come here since we live a little out. Easily my top 5 places to eat in Jackson. If you're out this way, DO NOT PASS...

Delicious! Delicious! Great seasoning and fried just how I like it, fried hard. Friendly atmosphere! I love Ms Rubye set up. This was my first time eating at Eddie and Rubye. My nephew told me about them two years ago. I'm from Mississippi but I live in Texas. When we driving down to MS about time we make it it to Jackson they closed. On our way back to Texas on Monday they don't be open. We was missing them all the way around. I did a road trip for my boy spring break for a week. The last 4 days of the trip we stayed in Canton MS. That Friday I made it my business to find Eddie and Rubye. Google is my best friend, I could remember Ms Rubye name but I googled where I can get pan trout fish in Jackson MS Eddie and Rubye snack bar came up. I asked Mr Eddie about a good home made hamburger place and he recommended me to Stamps Super burger. He was right that burger was good. Thank you! Thank you! I will be back!!
