Clara's Tidbits Restaurant Mandarin — Restaurant in Jacksonville

Had an online order for $50 and told the lady upfront my name. I waited about 5 mins I guess she got busy and never checked my order. I could see what looked like my order on the counter just wasn’t bagged yet. So i went over to the other lady working the front and told her my name, she got to bagging my order. There was a ranch next to my order because I ordered a side of ranch. She didn’t put the ranch in the bag. She gave me my bag and I double checked everything to confirm there was no ranch, there wasn’t. So I went back up and told her I think my ranch was forgotten. (I can see the ranch which was meant for my bag on the counter where my food was) she replied she didn’t forget a ranch that I didn’t order any ranch. I pointed out on my receipt where it says ranch. She told me since there wasn’t a .48 since charge on my receipt that means I didn’t pay for the ranch and couldn’t have it. I explained why was it an option on the website then. She said I would still have to pay .48 and said I could go get in line. The line had about 6 people waiting. It’s 12:30 on a Saturday. And she must’ve seen my face as I looked at the line and then offered to ring me up so I could pay my additional .48 for my side of ranch. I told her no thanks and left.

I have never had to pay for ranch at any other location. I’m also not sure the point of arguing with a customer when they ordered a side of ranch and it’s listed on the receipt.

The to go area isn’t being utilized and you have to wait to get your online order.

Clara's is a local gem, and has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. I was ordering a lot of food delivery during the height of COVID, and happened to stumble upon Clara's while randomly browsing nearby restaurants on DoorDash. The chicken salad pita was the first item I ordered, and I've been in love with this place ever since. Their chicken is always tasty, but you'd be hard-pressed to find something that isn't delicious on the menu. I introduced my wife to the restaurant, and now she loves Clara's just as much as I do. The quality and consistency of the food here is always top-tier, and I can honestly say my wife and I have never had a bad meal from here. Places like this are a true rarity, and I'm so grateful to live literally right behind their Mandarin location, on the corner of San Jose and Orange Picker. My only gripe is I wish the restaurant had longer business hours lol. I can't say enough good things about Clara's Tidbits, highly...

My first trip here, although I have eaten at other Tidbits locations. The line was literally out the door, but don’t worry, it moves fairly quickly.

My go to is always Chicken and fruit. A healthy scoop of chicken salad, surrounded by cantaloupe, melon, grapes and more. Sides are not an option and believe me, you don’t need it with the mammoth sized portion of this salad.

My daughter opted for the build your own sandwich, getting exactly what she wanted on gluten free bread. She got a side of chips.
