Dick's Shrimp and Wings — Restaurant in Jacksonville

THIS IS NOT THE DICK'S WINGS AND GRILL FRANCHISE

This is Dick's Shrimp N Wings and has nothing to do with the Dick's franchise.

After checking google maps and assuming this was the closest Dick's to my house, we called to place an order. I tried to order certain sauces, and the woman would say, "We don't have it at this location." Same thing with the waffle fries and boneless wings. "We don't have those at this location." Clearly, she'd been through this before. Instead of telling us the truth -- that it wasn't the same Dick's that is known for its variety of sauces and waffle fries -- she played along.

By the time we realized it wasn't the same place, we'd placed our order and didn't want to neglect to claim food we'd said we'd pick up. Upon arriving at the restaurant, it's pretty clear it isn't a part of the franchise, though they use a similar looking font on the building and color scheme inside. There's even sports-themed decorations.

The wings themselves were mediocre. The Garlic Parmesan had no flavor -- like they were tossed in salad dressing basically. The Cajun ranch were only slightly better, but not much. The chicken had no flavor. We doused the wings in Frank's Red Hot wings sauce which made them salvageable. The fries were OK, but nothing to write home about.

TL;DR: This isn't the Dick's you're looking for and the food is not good....

Very misleading. The menu isn't even the same. The menu is even questionable. Why have beer as a menu item if you don't serve it? Sending customers next door to purchase and bring it back doesn't make it a menu item and is extremely SHADY. Just because you slap a logo on the wall and a sign saying you are Dick's Wings doesn't make it true. I believe this is a family owned hole in the wall impersonating The Famous Dick's Wings Franchise. If you are looking for real Dick's Wings skip this place all together. This place is Dick's Wings N Shrimp. Maybe the owners name is Dick. Who knows. Never get mushroom apps here and never get Jamaican jerk flavor. If you brave and go.

The mushrooms looked like they were microwaved and old. Tasted like old dirty mushrooms. The jerk flavor was so foul it ruined anything else as the flavor couldn't be rinsed off the pallet.

Ordered take out. 30 piece 15/15 tangy/Jamaican wing mushroom app 2 pink lemonade 2 side salads.

I ordered a 10pc cajun ranch wing combo which costed me almost $15. According to the website this is one of the best selling wings flavors at this place. I highly disagree. The wings tasted like the cook just fried them and shook them in the sauce. These cooks needs to know flavor began with seasoning the bird first then the sauce. These waa the worst tasting wings i have ever eaten and I will never patronize this business again.The website advertisement is very deceitful stating these are the " Best Wing" not at all I have had better for less. They should represent themselves as the "Most Expensive Wings". I pay for what I want but I am big on quality and these were the worse. They need to go back and rethink the recipe. The cook should have considered using the season salt drowning my fries at the beginning of frying my wings. Never, never , never again will i eat here or recommend these wings. I could have brought & fried up my own damb wings.
