We were seated fairly quickly. But waited over an hour and a half for basic meals. When my meal came out it was wrong. They said it would take another 30 to 40 minutes to prepare the chicken fried chicken I had ordered. I asked for a ham and cheese sandwich. It came out 10 minutes later. It was grilled and hot. Only problem was that one side was perfectly toasted, but the other side was soggy and dripping oil. The restaurant itself was dated. They still had the original carpet which was stained and smelled grossly as if it had never been cleaned since the doors opened for business. The carpet smelled so bad going into the hallway to the restrooms that it literally made me gage and I felt sick to my stomach. The chairs padding were old, faded, stained and ripped. As were the booth padding. Enough to make you not slide in fear of ripping your clothes or scratching your bare legs. The owners apparently have no passion or care for this business and it shows big time..The wait staff were great and very apologetic, noting that the owners do not care about what the place looks or smells like and were in agreement with many of the guests as they complained about the wait, smell, look and quality of food being served. I would not recommend this location and would not return. The most positive experience was the waitress, who kept coming and updating us on our food and kept our drinks filled. She was kind and worked hard despite the atmosphere...
Read moreMe and my wife went to the establishment on June 22 for breakfast. We did receive our drinks quickly, but the food took far too long, especially for how many people were in the restaurant. My wife received her food and said that her spinach was bitter and her omelette, and nothing was hot at all. Her sausage links were dry, probably from where they had cooked it before, and then put it back in the microwave, but they were very hard and dry. For me, I had pecan waffles with eggs and sausage. The waffles were OK, but they were like lukewarm, my scrambled eggs were between cool and lukewarm, like they made them first, you always make eggs last because they don’t take too long and they can still be hot. I had sausage and they were kind of dry as well, I definitely did not enjoy my breakfast as well as my wife. The sweet tea was actually good, and I did ask for a sweet tea to go with no ice, and lo and behold. The waitress brought me back to go with ice in it, and I gave her a pretty good tip on top of all that and had I known that she wasn’t paying attention to detail, the tip definitely wouldn’t have been as much as it was. For what me and my wife received, it was very expensive. If I’m ever in Jacksonville again, I will not be coming to this establishment again, the...
Read moreI'm only giving this review after giving FA a 2nd chance since we DID go here frequently...This time was worse than last time...for basically the same reasons. My review actually went down a star today - we were acknowledged when we came in & told to sit anywhere - we sat for 6 mins before we even got asked for drinks & got our menus - waited another 9 mins to get said drinks - we waited, yet again, ANOTHER 8 mins for the server to come back & ask for our order - 23 minutes so far!! Waited ANOTHER 14 mins to get our food (our coffee cups :sitting at table edge: had been empty for 10 of these minutes! 41 MINUTES TO GET OUR FOOD! let me clarify that there were only 5 other tables with customers at them - I'm assuming there were 3 servers since that's how many female voices I could hear laughing & talking near the cash register area (&1 guy in the kitchen) Bless her heart - our server was nice but has, obviously, no serving experience or has had no 'good' training. I never EVER stiff servers but I really couldn't justify tipping her but I did $3/$20 bill still 15% I may be 'old school' when it comes to service (yrs of experience) & when my service deserves a good tip, I leave 20-30% of the bill most times...but when it doesn't, I tip accordingly - I tip service,...
