This is the real deal and they serve up a proper NY style pizza. As a native New Yorker, once I moved to Florida after 37 years of living in NY, I basically stopped eating pizza after trying most of the local pizzarias. I find it next to impossible to get good pizza in FL and I don't understand why it is so difficult to make a decent pizzza. I suspect that the owner or pizzaiolo lived in NY for and learned to make pizza there (maybe I'm wrong, but this is my guess). Don't let this hidden location fool you, this is the best pizza I have had in Jacksonville - and I have tried many, many of them. This place gets all three right - crust, sauce and cheese. If you are in the area, I highly recommend you pick up a pie. The setup is a little odd, it's sort of connected to Mudville Grill but sort of separate at the same time - you'll see what I mean. This is a to-go only place from what I gather - although if you are at Mudville, you might be able to order a pizza and eat it there, but I'm not really sure. On the outside of the building there is a window flanked by a red light and a green light and this is where you pick your pizza up from. I hope eventually they add a Sicilian and Grandma pie to the menu! If you are a New Yorker and miss real pizza, you owe it to yourself to go here - even if you have to travel a bit. I hope the community continues to support this place so they can keep pumping out...
