The Sheik Sandwiches and Subs — Restaurant in Jacksonville

A friend and I decided to try it for lunch about 2:30 yesterday afternoon. The waitstaff was sultry and not all that interested in taking our orders or getting them right. I had a burger combo and my friend had a camel rider. I asked for no cheese and had to be asked by the ?cook? as she was putting my hamburger in the microwave if I wanted cheese. My friend's camel rider came with tomatoes and onions after he clearly asked for those items to be left out, and extra mayo. Very little mayo. The area behind the front counter looked like a day care center with children's toys scattered about and when we came in, one of the waitstaff was carrying a child around on her hip. None of the staff in the kitchen wore a hair net. $3.99 is a mediocre deal for a burger combo when what you get is a thin microwaved burger loaded with so much other stuff it gets cold right away. My friend and I were the only customers in the store at the time so there was no excuse for slow service; they were amply staffed. I was at the counter waiting for our food and as I say, we were the only customers in the store at the time. I watched our order come up and be ignored for a few minutes while the two counter staff emptied garbage containers and replaced liners and other small tasks before deciding to give me our order, without first even washing her hands! One of the employees in the kitchen was cooking something on the grill that looked good; I had assumed it was my burger until I saw them put mine in the microwave. My dog got all of our french fries. A woman came in while we were eating; ordered and got her meal. I didn't notice what it was but did notice that she took a few bites and threw the entire meal in the trash. and left. I like this place but this is a new sheet for me so ask for bacon on to my biscuit they said they couldn't do it it was the weirdest thing that they couldn't do or add on bacon to my sandwich and I thought that's something that they should apply to their menu in the long run and it was about to be a spat about it and it was going to overcharge me $6 or something for bacon that they couldn't and didn't want to put on my biscuit sandwich sausage sandwich is like you know these like they couldn't do them like we'll be inventive like why can't you do that and charge me a certain amount or you know I guess it's the way they cook it I don't know but I will go again it was good it was always good they got one of the best breakfast sandwiches...

I have been eating here for the past 3 months and never have I had a bad experience. I came in n this morning and I purchased 2 steak and egg and cheese pita's I quickly found out that it had been made with onions so when I returned the pita's the owner quickly had made me 2 more no questions asked no arguments just phenomenal customer service and the pita tasted delicious! This place treats you with kindness and respect and they even take the time to get to know each returning customer!
