Okay,so I’ve been to this place once a few weeks ago and the food was alright. My friend had the chicken and rice and I had the shrimp and rice. The meal was pretty bland. I went back today, attempting to give the place a second chance. I heard a bit of rave about this place on popular local food bloggers. I am sad to say that again it was the same bland taste. Only this time i ordered crème brûlée little pastries. There were three of them. I took a small bite out of one and immediately didn’t like it. It was cold when i got it with what looks like a flame torch spot making it appear freshly baked. I wanna say they tasted frozen but don’t wanna discredit them if they weren’t. but it sure tasted so. I asked the waiter could i get it removed since i only tasted it and didn’t like it. She looked at me with a stank look asking me to repeat myself. She then did the dramatic “uhhhh” and i said “its okay “ she then went on to say “i can asked but ik what my boss will say “ i said “ that’s okay” bc it wasn’t that big of a deal. AFTER i was all boxed up and about to pay my bill she continued and let me know that her boss says “ you don’t return something you already ate do you?” which most places will just take it off ur bill if you’ve only took one bite. like how else am i supposed to find out if i like it ???? and her tone was condescending and the fact that she still continued on with the smartness after i said it was okay multiple times was very annoying.I...
Read moreI had to go twice before I made a review. My first time going was honestly disappointing. My husband and I waited 2 hours before we were seated which understandably they’re busy, this however put us at a disadvantage because when we got seated they were basically doing last call for the kitchen. When we went to place our order there were a few stuff we were notified of that were out, as dinner went by they came and told us of other stuff that were out and then we waited for a while and discovered that they were out of the last of the food we were waiting on and no one told us, we confirmed this when we saw it crossed out on the menu we had when we went to pay, that really killed the experience for us because we sat and waited and no one said anything to us. Fast forward to our second time going and the wait was much shorter and we basically got everything we ordered. I want to shout out Esme who took very good care of us and made the experience so amazing. She was so kind, she checked on us often and treated us as if we were friends for years. The food was amazing amazing amazing. The mango mochi and the pork&chive and shrimp&chive dumplings were top tier for me. My husband said his top choices were the steamed spare ribs and the salt&pepper chicken. We’ll definitely be back and we hope the service is always as amazing as the service Esme provided on our...
Read moreHong Kong native here. Overall food is decent, the steamed char siu (pork) bun and the fried pork dumpling are highlights. However, Beef tribe tastes ok but is not authentic, and the egg tart is absolutely unacceptable. The crust is thicker than my skin, and it's clearly not fresh. Additionally, menu items are limited, some of my favorites like beef chow fun are non existent on the menu.
The biggest problem however, is the wait time. We waited for more than half an hour until the first item came. Judging from the other reviews here, it seems like we got lucky. 45 minutes, an hour, an hour and a half, are all believable to me as we went around 1:05 for lunch where there weren't many people. The owner responds here in the comments that it's about 'freshness'. N-O-P-E. The whole point of dim sum is to prepare it ahead of time, keep it warm, and serve it quick. The stir fried dishes take more time sure, but NOT dim sum. We witnessed a table next to us who waited too long for one of their dishes, to the point they finished their previous dishes way before and simply cancelled their order (and seemed pretty frustrated😬). All in all, not worth coming back unfortunately. If you're craving for dim sum, go to S&R dim sum, which is 90% of the quality, but 300% the...
