I have been eating here for many years and I’ve always had a good experience until today. Someone bought me takeout and brought it to my job for lunch and I was extremely disappointed. I opened the container to my salad and it was brown and extremely unflattering. I called back up there to express my dislike for the way the salad looked and to make them aware that whoever is serving the salad should be made aware that it was bad. The young lady on the phone was very passive aggressive and asked what did I want them to do about it. I explained that the reason for the call was to make the kitchen aware. I told her that I lived on another side of town and it would be a waste for me to travel for a salad. The point of the call was to make them aware of what they are serving people. When I said I would post a review so that they can see how the salad looked she got aggressive saying why make a review if I don’t want anything done about it… FYI people can review whatever they want as it reflects their person experience! She proceeded to get loud, over talking me, and would not tell me her name when asked. She should absolutely not be in customer service. A simple “We apologize and I will let management or the kitchen know” would have sufficed and the interaction would have been over. Her attitude made the situation so much worse. I did call back to speak to the manager Scott I believe his name was and he was very nice. Overall the food was not good. Scallops smelled old so I did not eat them and I was only given 4, 4 hard oysters, the shrimp were okay make 6-8 of those, and the salad was brown. I use to love this place truly but never again!

Usually we go here because my dad really enjoys this place. The food is usually fine but the service is typically slow (including getting the drinks, drink refills, and checking on the table) and our table is typically slow to be cleared or isn't cleared till the end, so normally I would rate 3 stars and only really go because my dad like seafood. But today was a pleasant experience so that I was compelled enough to post a review. The food was all delicious but also our waitress Christina was THE BOMB! She was friendly, took care of us, and cleared out table quickly when we finished plates! She's really great, I can't say that enough! We got stuffed mushrooms and calamari fries for appetizers. The stuffed mushrooms were good, cheesy, with some seafood flavor and the calamari was crispy on the outside and the actual calamari was soft (mom was thinking it was cuttlefish) but it was really good! I enjoyed my cup of clam chowder (a good ratio of clams and potatoes) and cole slaw (had a good texture and flavor). My dad loves their catfish and today it seemed more plentiful than usual and looked delicious. Mom and I got the Plenty for One (which is plenty for the both of us). The green beans were typical but good. I ordered the cheese grits but mom wasn't sure if there was cheese, but I enjoyed them (I'm not usually a fan of grits). They were really soft and buttery. (We also ordered fried okra but I was too full from everything else.) We were also able to get drinks to go. Good experience this time

My wife and I have been dining at this establishment for over 16 years. Today was the worst experience I have ever had at this restaurant. In the photos there are pictures of scrambled fish. I asked the waitress why the fish was scrambled and undercooked she told me because it was a flaky fish. I then ask to speak to the manager. The manager came to the table. Also tried to tell me the fish looked like that because it was flaky, I then moved the pieces of fish around, and he told me that I broke it up with my finger fingers. I explained to the manager I’ve been coming here for over 16 years and I’m not looking for a handout I want my fish cooked properly in the last picture is what the manager had cooked for me a perfectly cooked piece of fish Of the same type and not scrambled. The waitress decided she was not gonna wait our table anymore after this disagreement . My wife politely then asked the front desk For a go box and she replied, I am not your waitress and walked away. She stayed in the back until it was time for us to leave. We stood there waiting to pay for our food and the manager literally forced the front desk lady to check us out.

UNETHICAL & RACIST WORKERSAT SAM'S ST JOHNS SEAFOOD ON NORMADY!!

Their rating for me is ZERO--0000!

We went to this joint today because we did not want to make a long drive; boy oh boy, total error!!

Stephanie "Steph" had a sourpus attitude, 😐, like she did not want to be bothered. We placed our order, my Hubby ordered clam chowder, that was $5, I ordered the lunch portion of blackened salmon, shrimp, & scallops with broccoli that was $17.99. I ordered sweet tea $2.49, Hubby had water$0.00, nothing extra. So the total was $21.48; however, Stephanie unethical self had the bill for $29.99, how?!?!? She had listed on the bill $17.99, $1.49,and $2.00, apparently she was making her own prices, I am not sure. I asked before we paid, how is this ticket $30? Again, listed prices were 17.99, 1.49, and 2.00 plus tax come to 23.11. Stephanie comes to the front trying to justify her unethicalness; she stated "We charged $3 extra for salmon, The tea was $3 and if you pay with a card it's $3". I said why is there not a sign with this information? Some other loud talking chicken was like "it is right here, or it was." I told them this is shady busines! Stephanie started ringing up the items and she was like the salmon with tax is $19 and some odd cents, 🤔 i said oh every thing has its own tax and everything is not taxed together? Stephanie wa like yes, I said when and how is this even legit?? 😂!! Instead of the additional $6.60 Stephanie was trying to steal, we paid $23.40; how $29.99 got on the tab is a mystery!!

BE YE WARNED!! Sam's St John's Seafood on Normady has several unethical employees and I want to believe, it was really racist how we were treated. Nevertheless, we will NEVER patronize this unjpint again. Oh,and the food was not worth a hill of beans!! Save your money and time, find somewhere else to spend your precious money 💰🤑!!

Sad!! There is no one on this earth better than the next, treat everyone right, whether they are Black, White, Asian, Hispanic or whatever their ethnicity may be! TREAT EVERYONE WITH RESPECT!! BECAUSE YOU DONT KNOW WHO WILL BE THERE TO HELP YOU!! DO WHAT IS RIGHT, ALL THE TIME BY EVERYONE!!

PEACE ✌️, LOVE ❤️, & HAPPINESS 😊...

One of the worst service experiences I’ve had.. Called and ordered food for pickup, was told 20 mins. Arrived 25 mins later, No Food. Hostess went and checked in back, came back out verified my name went back again, came back and asked if it could be under any other name and I said no. She sat two other guests that came in while I was waiting, then went back again, came back to me and asked if it could be under Quincy, once again I said no it’s under Kevin. A bag of food came out another customer walked in after me and got their food. I asked one more time where my order was. She went in the back again came back out and said oh I must’ve overlooked your name went in the back one more time came back out and said oh they are working on it now, now mind you, this is after I have been inside for over 10 minutes and had already waited 25 minutes before showing up for a for a 20 minute order. I asked her how long and she said about 15 minutes so I responded with all so y’all just now started cooking it. There were maybe 30 people in the restaurant with two hostesses three waitresses and I don’t know how many kitchen stuff. So I told them to forget about it and left. As I am pulling into my driveway after about a 10 minute drive home I get a phone call from the restaurant stating my food is done, I told them thank you but no thank you since I had already been to the restaurant, waited inside their restaurant and left. All in all From the time I called to the time they called me. It was almost an hour for a 20 minute order.. whole time manager walking around front drinking out of his water bottle telling clients sorry our orders are backed up. I can understand if you are busy, but please do not lie to customers just to get them there and then have them wait, worst service experience I have experienced in...
