I had called and I wanted to order us something online I had ordered the Canadas item and I also had ordered the fajita burrito and the churros and my order should only had came out to be 20 something dollars but they were trying to charge me almost $50 so DD amount so I called back to find out why I was being overcharged and the manager was very rude and answer the phone and I told him to cancel my order because I was being overcharged because I looked at the menu and seen that the prices that were on the menu online did not match up with the price that they were going to charge me in the restaurant so I politely canceled my order and I told him never never mind I did not want to order because I didn’t feel that it’s right that I should be overcharged I used to go to that restaurant when I worked across the street and they had excellent food when I used to go there it’s been years since I’ve been there but I looked on the menu online the recent menu and I looked at the prices and they were trying to rip me off so I decided not to go there the quality of food I didn’t go back or experience it because I was not gonna be overcharged and furthermore they can learn how to treat people over the phone because they did not offer a good customer service and the lady that first took my order did not listen very well to the order how I was placing it and she was trying to make me order other stuff that I did not order so therefore I gave them one star because over Because of no good customer service and if the customer service like that in the fridge probably gonna be like that too so that is my review and hopefully they can change that to gain peoples confidence and wanted to go there and order food from them but until then I will decline and I will not go there and the manager was rude and he told me if you don’t like the price go to Taco Bell and I just hung up so one star. Especially being the. manager you should not be rude just a sidenote If I wanted to go to Taco Bell then I would’ve gone to Taco Bell but obviously I called your restaurant to place the order and overall my experience with you guys was in my appearance in my...
Read moreI've been a loyal patron of this restaurant, frequently visiting multiple times a month. Unfortunately, my recent experience has left me disappointed and saddened by the drastic changes.
First and foremost, I must commend the staff. They were amazing, as always. This is the one aspect that has remained consistently positive. Their dedication and service have always been top-notch, and it's a shame that other elements have changed so dramatically.
One glaring issue was the behavior of the floor manager, Daniel. He was rude and condescending, displaying terrible people skills. Witnessing him scolding staff in front of patrons was incredibly uncomfortable. Due to his attitude and mood, the staff appeared nervous and apprehensive, which is unacceptable in any dining establishment.
The menu has undergone a significant change, adding items like a $120 tomahawk steak and lobster. These are not items I would consider purchasing at a Mexican restaurant. The drastic price increase and the removal of traditional items were disappointing. My husband ordered the Molechete, and it didn't even come with the usual sides like cheese, sour cream, etc. This felt like a substantial downgrade from what we were accustomed to.
Additionally, attempting to create a fine dining atmosphere by throwing a black tablecloth, lighting candles, and changing the light fixtures does not suffice. Fine dining is about the entire experience, and seeing how Daniel treated not just us, the paying customers, but his staff as well, made it clear he has no business attempting to turn this beloved local spot into a fine dining establishment.
Overall, my once favorite restaurant in Jax has lost its charm. I understand the need to adapt to economic changes, and a reasonable price increase would have been acceptable. However, the combination of poor management, an ill-conceived menu overhaul, and the loss of the friendly, relaxed atmosphere has driven us away. I am truly sad for the staff, who have always been great. Unfortunately, unless significant changes are made, we won't be returning. Daniel's approach will likely run this restaurant...
Read moreCame to Jacksonville to go to IKEA and found ourselves hungry after walking the entire store. Of course I turned to Yelp when I'm at another city and in need to find something good to eat. Tequilas is just less than 2 miles away. At first glance, the entrance was unique and cool. Already, I felt like I was transported somewhere but here. The interior was colorful and welcoming. We were immediately seated and our server came to our table with chips and salsa when he came to get our drink order. There were plenty of TVs and I can only imagine coming here during World Cup. The atmosphere has got to be fun especially with the full bar and several beers on tap. The menu was simple, plenty of choices but yet, not overwhelming. My husband ordered the Carne Asada. He raved about the steak. It was well seasoned, tender, and juicy. It came with rice, refried beans, lettuce, cheese, roasted jalapeno pepper (very good as well), and taco shell. I ordered the Fajita Nachos. Let me just say this...I've not had a nacho this tasty ever. I just hope it's not MSG and I'll be thirsty later. The fajita consisted of steak, shrimp, and chicken sauteed with lots of onions, pepper, and tomato. I had to immediately request for a to go box because the portion was ridiculously big. For the food we had, the price was really reasonable. If there's anything that can make this visit better, it's the service. Our server was efficient and quick to respond. Granted, we have to ask for everything but he was also busy taking care of other tables. I think the table to server ratio needs a little adjustment. When we ask for more salsa, hot sauce, and drink refill, he came quickly with refill, salsa, and 3 bottles of different hot sauce! He quickly disappeared to other tasks and failed to notice we were down to our last two chips. I guess just as well, we needed to save our stomach for real food. I would recommend...
