This was my first time going to this establishment to eat. There was a sign posted that was very clear about their direction when ordering( the cashier will know when you're ready to order when you ring the bell, and they will not wait on you receive your payment so please have it ready at the counter). The server/cook/cashier was not very friendly. A stranger had to help make a suggestion when I placed my order. I purchased a salmon salad, and it was okay. It took 15 minutes to bake the salmon. The meat was still warm when placed on the salad, which made it soggy, and the skin was left on the salmon, which was not appealing. The place was empty and quiet. I wouldn't necessarily return or recommend eating here from my experience.

We found this restaurant by accident while looking for a soul food restaurant for some out-of-town guests. Since it was later in the day, we were surprised they were open but were happy about it. We were able to order various items to feed five people. We had a pork chop sandwich, shrimp and wings, gizzards, and an order of fries. The service and food were good. I didn’t have any complaints. However, the eating area is small and outdated, although we did order our food to go. We have eaten here again, since our first time.

So I love to support local especially when it comes to great food. If you haven't heard of this place, you really need to check it out. The wings are great and the burgers hold up to the quality of the wings. For those in the Jacksonville area, you really need to stop by.

I respect the concept of the food. My first time getting food delivered from The Avenue Grill was not the best. The chicken wings was not cooked and the sauce was more so paste about time I recieved it. I don't know if it was due to the reaturant or delivery but was not up to par. The chicken tenders were delicious real chicken not frozen store bought chicken. I truely respect that. The fries were soggy and were not cooked hard. If the fries were cooked hard it would have not been an issue. If you order for delivery ensure you put sauce on the side not on the chicken. I don't know if they sell the fried wings without breading, but if so ensure you order with or without breading. I tasted old grease as well in the chicken. I'm sure they change the grease but today wasn't the day. I would eat again here but just won't get it...

I have been wanting a good hamburger for days and this is my second let down this week. The French fries was hot and so was the burger. My husband asked for one all the way. He got the same thing I did with just a little mustard and mayonnaise with lettuce and a slice of tomato. Mine had no mustard no ketchup one slice of tomato and a piece of lettuce. Didn't taste as if it had any season and the fries had no salt on them. We did get ketchup packages. They did the same thing as the Sheik restaurant did fixing food with no season and don't give you any salt and pepper package. If I was not going straight home I would had to eat the food with no season. Still looking for a good hamburger. Guess we will go back to Hardee's it cost more but then I get...
