A quiet retreat from the bustle of Colonial Williamsburg, the Dale House welcomes guests of the APVA-owned side of Historic Jamestown for a bjte to eat and deink alongside of the James River. The caterer at the Dale House is exceptional. Beer, fountain soda, coffee, hot tea, and other bottled beverages are offered. The pastries and sandwich breads are home baked. The soups, sandwiches, salads, and quiches are just the right ticket for lunch. I strongly recommend any sandwich on the croissant buns if they are available as a special!
Just be sure to purchase the APVA ticket in addition to the fee for admittance to the National Park in order to access the Dale House. Recent changes have required both tickets to be purchased due to ownership division of Historic Jamestown by the APVA and NPS. But, a week long pass is well worth the price for returned admittance to enjoy the offerings and unobstructed Jame River view at...

Hot chocolate was a pleasant treat after a thrilling, unexpected, quite enjoyable and educational guided tour with Mr. Tom Patton from Aldrich Bed & Breakfast. The cafe offers excellent choices of sandwiches, a variety of snacks and other hot beverages that hit the spot on any cold winter day or well just any day you may have an opportunity to visit this once in a LIFETIME IN THE MAKING HISTORY… during three tour met archeologists who were actually digging for over 400+ artifacts from the original settlements of the English at Fort Jamestown! We actually witnessed the findings too! WOW! Was also blessed to witness use of new ground penetrating identification technology being used to fine areas where they should dig next! AMAZING! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND VISITING THE...
Read moreSmall but decent food selection; fairly healthy options to include Gluten-Free (if needed), a couple vegetarian choices, select adult libations, various homemade desserts, and plenty of other beverages from juices to hot teas. Indoor seating area simple but outdoor patio is highly recommended for the views alone! Tables are both in covered area and out in the open. There are also picnic tables adjacent to back patio and shaded under large tree.
Area is crowded during tourist season but I initially visited in March and loved the lack of people and the solitude of a few select visitors at the cafe where I could enjoy my meal with minimal interruptions or distractions while touring the grounds. Would recommend a visit to this cafe for...
