Sandwich Hound — Restaurant in Jasmine Estates

Ate at Sandwich Hound today for lunch. I was in the area for an appointment at the VA Outpatient Clinic, New Port Richey and wanted to grab a bite to eat. Sandwich Hound was right down the street and sound good. I had the Pulled Pork 3 Cheese Griller meal which included handmade chips and a can soda. My sandwich was great. The pork was juicy and they grilled the bread which was amazing. The chips were sliced very thing and were really good. The restaurant also does cakes, coffee, ice-cream. The owners were very nice and friendly and we sparked up a conversation. The restaurant is on Little Rd, but doesn't have a direct access driveway, you have to turn into Counsel Square Professional Office Center, and can be tricky to find as the sign is flat across the front and you might not see it until you are past it. We went to the SS office and it was right by it so we went for lunch. My husband had the bbq smashburger which comes with fries but no drink for $10. He said it was greasy, but couldn’t eat there because of all the small flies going on the food. He said the bathroom was also filled with flies and gross. I got the grilled cheese, since that was the only veggie thing on the menu. We waited a while for the food and didn’t come with condiments or a straw so I had to keep getting up to get things. The worker didn’t even offer to bring the food over, yet they ask for a tip? Also the grilled cheese was bland and dry, no sauce or flavor. The only thing I would go back for was their pastries. Ordered off of door dash, but it was so good at 5 pm we were gonna come back and get another burger, but sadly it’s closed at 3. I have never seen food on door dash look so good on a menu, hardest part was picking between a burger and chicken sandwich. Literally flipped a coin and the Shittake burger won out. The brioche buns are so good, and burgers were cooked perfectly. My wife did a byob and was like it’s alright, but later she’s like damn that burger was so good wish I got another one.
