Gabby's Restaurant — Restaurant in Jasper

It was one of the worst experiences I ever had dining out. We were hungry and wanted some country cooking. I ordered the chicken and dressing , Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes and gravy with a roll. Our plates were brought out and the food was cold, not even slightly warm. The chicken & dressing had zero chicken in it. It was just dressing that was dried out crumbs . The Mac & cheese were bland with no cheese. They were out of rolls so I got cornbread instead that was hard and cold. We didn't complain or send it back although we almost just left and went to eat somewhere else. The good is great, fresh & hot. The service is ok from most of the staff, but every time we get 'Lisa', it is a terrible experience & makes me not come back for a while. She has a bad attitude! She reaches over our food & drinks, almost knocked my tea over by hitting my straw with the bottom of another picture, tried 2 give me an opened straw from the table behind us, had to get it myself & another straw when she hit mine with the other tea picture! I know waitressing is a hard job, like most, but I feel like if I can perform a job to satisfactory to get my money, then the waitress should do the same. Decided to try grabbing a bite of breakfast from Gabby 's after reading some reviews and was pleased. I got the steak omelet which was delicious and an orange juice. The service was prompt and good. This is definitely a down home small town feel diner which I enjoyed. There were only 2 issues that kept me from giving 5 stars. First was the cost of the orange juice which was almost 4 dollars! Secondly the men's restroom was in need of attention as the main room light appeared to have had problems and the only light in the room was a small battery powered LED light stuck to the wall behind the toilet.
