AJ's Country Cone — Restaurant in Jefferson Township

We were driving on a long trip headed to the Garden State Parkway. We needed a stop and in a small strip center in Oak Ridge we found an ice cream parlor! What a wonderful find! Local residents were stopping in to pick up celebration ice-cream cakes that were beautiful! We ordered soft serve, hard ice-cream. Delicious. I topped my ny cheesecake twisted with decadent chocolate swirl with sugar free chocolate sauce topping--whipped cream of course. The owner AnnMarie let me know that all the brownie and cakey items are baked fresh on premises. And look at the freezer cake of pre-home-made treats--you won't believe the chocolate mousse/cakey popsicle the size of your hand! We originally found this place because I met the owner out one day and he mentioned that I should bring my son to meet Santa. Despite a snow storm, the meet and greet with Santa was above and beyond what I ever thought it would be. They did such an amazing job putting it together and it was so special for the kids. Afterwards, we got to try their ice cream (SO good!) and they told us about their ice cream cakes. My son’s birthday is in February, so we decided to have them make his cake. We’ve been going to AJ’s for years. The ice cream is absolutely delicious and they always have clever themed sundaes. It’s also our tradition to get all our ice cream cakes here for our birthdays. This past weekend we celebrated our niece’s first birthday with an AJ’s cake, and I have to say that they absolutely outdid themselves!
