A mentor referred me to this restaurant and since I was in the city I figured why not stop before I head home to the burbs and check it out for myself.
Well I walked in, the place was packed but spaced for COVID and I ordered my food at approximately 7:07 pm. I was told to wait in my car for a call.
Well at 8:09 I figured he maybe jotted down the wrong number or something so I called in and was told that they're still working on my order.
Ok.....
Well I continued on my phone... Instagram, calling my boyfriend... searching the web... now actually searched "amitabul wait time" and low and behold lots of people with my experience....
So now I'm livid. I actually live 1 hour away... I have been waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes approximately and the time is now 8:50... so I call again and I tell the guy who answers that it's been almost 2 hours and I have a 1 hour drive home and I want to just cancel my order as this is an awful experience and 3 hours of my life is now gone.
He says they're putting your food in the bag and you can come in now... mind you they close at 9pm.
I'm starving... I've been waiting 2 hours... I get my order...
I try the dumplings... delicious... but I'm in the car and I have to drive so ... the rest of my food will be cold when I make it home.... who knows how it will be reheated.
I want my money back and I definitely want my time back... good food or bad food... I'm not a fan.
Customer service is nonexistent and my time is completely unvalued.
Do not recommend.... should've went to Chicago Diner while here in the city...
Going to drive 1 hour home now.... but had to leave this review. It's 9:10pm.
UPDATE: I tried the rest of my food and it honestly was not good.... not worth $40+ or 3 hours.. it's a solid No for me. save your coins and your time!
I ordered:
Mandoo Vegan Dumpling =8 Healing Energy Noodle Soup Spicy =4 Maho Pyogo Mild =3 Awakening Energy Drink =3
Rated on a scale 1-10
With only 1 appetizer being tasty .......

My first choice is all RAW foods pulled straight from the trees and ground and straight into my body as it’s in its purest and natural form and that is what these energetic bodies need.
Food: Jade Maki Sushi Rolls was good. Lacked flavor. I am someone who enjoys herbs and seasonings on food to wake up everything and then it will be a dance party in my body.
Seaweed and Spinach soup was a delight and very tasty.
Mung bean pancakes had no flavor at all. I did enjoy the fact that it made my body feel really good and comforted.
The Wolf’s Dream entree was ok. I’m learning although I love flavors in a massive way I’m more so concerned that my energetic body absorbs as many nutrients as possible and this restaurant makes sure of that by not serving you any toxic items. Most if not all is body safe.
Drink Ginger Energy Tea was delight.
Very generous portions. Affordable prices. Street Parking. You get a discount if you pay with cash. There’s a 3% processing fee with credit/debit cards.
Customer service can use some help but overall it was a joyous and magnificent experience.
Wholeness and Infinite Love To All!

Read moreBeing vegan, I have wanted to come here for a very long time. Frist of all, Amitabul had me at Vegan but then you learn they have a ton of gluten free (I have celiac disease) and light to no oil options... I was in heaven. The menu is extensive, there is a ton to choose from so initially it can be a bit overwhelming. My husband and I shared the following: Dumplings for him (he loved them) and seaweed salad (it was huge with big bell peppers, radishes, small thin seaweed leaves, spring mix and a beauitful dressing). I pretty much devoured the entire salad.. Our entress were both oil free and full of flavor. I had a curry dish (can't remember the name) which was so outstanding. It had grilled tofu which was thinly sliced and just lovely. I spooned up any little drop of liquid left on my plate, the curry sauce had spices that were exotic, spicy and unique. My husband had a veg stir fry with rice pillows that were fluffy yet chewy and just fun to eat. Living in Lakeview, makes this restaurant a hike for us. However, we plan on coming back very soon.! Thank you Amitabul for treating food with respect as it should be. We had a beautiful...
