Newly opened Casa Cactus has quickly become a favorite in our household. They opened for service at the beginning of November, and we've been back every weekend since.
Stepping into Casa Cactus is stepping into a moment. Warm earth tones, flickering candlelight, and ambient music draw you in, while textured cultural pieces inspire pause and mindfulness.
Did you forget we're talking about a coffee shop? As did I. Set back from the cozy seating & cactus-adorned entrance is a modest menu and bakery box with locally made pastries. In addition to Backlot coffee and mudwtr, they also make a Cafe de Olla that is not to be missed. The staff is incredibly kind, and the prices are affordable as well.
In case the vibes, service, and coffee isn't enough, they also position themselves as a community space, opening doors for individuals and groups to gather, collaborate, and further their cause.

I had a drip coffee (Backlot Coffee Roasters) and a Guava and Cheese empanada. The drip was dialed well, a medium roast with notes of bakers chocolate and red apple, and it paired well with the guava and cheese. They take cash, have WiFi, and lots of natural light. This place has a unique taste in their coffee. I had coffee with caramel goat milk. Their ethnic Latin touch with pottery and colorful fabrics makes this place feel like a local chic home inviting the self-employed workers, dates, and a union room for meetings.
