I have come here previously and enjoyed their Tacos on Taco Tuesday when you get 2 tacos for $4.99, however, tonight I met the most untrained person taking my order. She should not be on a register! Reading other recent reviews there seems to be a repeating problem with the evening cashier and staff (food quality and preparation). I usually come here and around 4 p m tonight it was 9 p m. My purpose and posing this negative review is because you can't improve if you don't know what the problem is.
She couldn't figure out how to use her head set at the drive thru to communicate. So I go to the window to order she can't hear me. Then I am also repeating myself over and over which is frustrating because she can't hear me at the window either. After placing my order she asks me again what I wanted. I told her "I just told you at least 3 times" she replies "oh yeah, you wanted steak tacos. I asked her to enter my phone number for the loyalty program and she said they only do that if I come into the restaurant to order. I told her that is not true. I always go to the drive thru and get points.
So I order:
1 steak taco dinner $12.99 It is 3 tacos, rice and beans. There is no mention of these up charges at the drive thru 1 Taco Tuesday special $4.99 it is 2 steak tacos.
She hands me the receipt and I see up charges. She up charged me for cilantro .75 cents, steak .33 cents x 3.
I order 2 of the steak taco specials she said it was $5 it's actually $4.99 but no up charge for steak Point being she wasn't giving me the combination dinner at the price on their menu displayed at the drive thru. I asked her to take the up charges off because it isn't stated on the menu. She refused. So I told her forget it based upon her terrible service and attitude I don't want to buy food from here please give me a refund. She became argumentative instead of just taking those charges off. It was $1.74 and though it wasn't much at this point it was how she was treating me.
So I tell her forget it based upon her attitude and poor service I don't want to buy food here and asked her to refund me. She didn't know how to!!! She had to facetime with someone at another location for 15 minutes to try to figure it out. By then they made the food because she didn't tell them to cancel it.
Then she wants me to take her word for it that I was refunded and she wouldn't give me a receipt. I told her no I need a receipt after 15 to 20 minutes of her facetiming with a man at another location. She couldn't figure it out. Unbelievable. I told her forget it I will take the food then since it was made and she said no it was already refunded. So i asked for proof in the form of a receipt. She said she couldn't give me one because she didn't know how. What????
I left with no receipt, no food either and went to Taco Max up the street. Where I ordered my food and left in 5 minutes. No issues just good food.
That was ridiculous! Check your receipts they up charge and over charge you! Now I have to dispute the charges with my bank! When I asked her her name she refused to give it to me. Her name was Dayanara. It was on my receipt. She finally told me her name because I told her there is no way I am leaving without a refund receipt without...
Read moreIt’s my 2nd time going here in the same week clearly, I’m becoming a fan.
“Taco Pros” took over the old location of “Suzie Q’s”, and should you ask any ole’ Chicago Northsider, they’ll respond back nostalgically about greasy late night food with a menu as long as your arm and the most ineffective drive-thru in America - ah, nostalgia.
In any case, I was in the mood for Mexican late at night, around 11:30pm and didn’t wanna go to my usual spots again, wanting to try something new, and I remembered Taco Pros having recently opeining up when I drive by recently so I thought I’d give them a shot.
When I arrived, I opted to go inside instead of the drive thru for a carry out order. Their menu isn’t as large as other more traditional Mexican restaurants, and the prices are slightly above market (I thought, at least - $5.99 for a quesadilla with no toppings when the norm is usually
Read moreHorrible service. Staff always has a crappy attitude and couldn't care less about patrons. Also, very slow and they often make mistakes with orders. Prices are way too high considering the portions are fairly small. On a positive note, the quality of the food has been decent and the drive through can come in handy on cold days. Wish the management would address the overall employee performance and portion sizes. UPDATE: May 1st 2025 Decided to give them another shot and was disappointed, again. Ordered $17 enchiladas. Nice picture on their website. Reality was pitiful. Rice was cold. Enchiladas were the size of small hot dogs. No avocado. Seems there's no commitment to quality/quantity. That was the last time I eat at this, or any...
