The Elmcrest Banquets — Attraction in Leyden Township

This review is long overdue. I've been to this venue several times. Today, I went to a graduation party where the host had Elmcrest cater the food. Every time I've been to the venue the food has been above and beyond. Very fresh, expertly prepared and served, and absolutely delicious. The staff there are one of the nicest group of people I've ever encountered. Friendly, attentive, and always checking to make sure I was enjoying everything. Very impressive all around. Today was the first time I've ever had food "to go" from Elmcrest. It's easily among the best carry out/ delivery food I've ever had. The chicken in a lemon sauce was so tender it melted in my mouth. The coating on the chicken was light, not overly "bready or starchy" and top notch. The sauce was a perfect compliment to the fork tender chicken. The two pasta dishes they served were amazing. Cooked to perfection, and the two different sauces were so tasty, I went on for seconds on every dish. Even the salad was very good. Crisp, very fresh vegetables, and a really tasty house dressing. The bread they send with the food items is outsatnding. Crispy crust, nice chewy texture, and good enough to mention in this review. Today 8/10 I was at a 15 in the (Grandview east) and the bar was Terrible the bar tender were rude and argumentative when asked if they can make a drink tell me we don't carry any of the ingredients when I clearly see them right behind them I had to ask a waiter for all the ingredients except the alcohol go back up to the bar and have them put a shot in, They said all they do is print mixed strings and that they don't measure anything and the drink And the drink they do have tastes nothing but syrup just disgusting I recommend if your going to have a party and your paying for liquor find a place that serves better liquor or at least get better bartenders who know what...

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. I have been to many events at Elmcrest, and had my wedding there last month. Mary was amazing to work with and was always available to answer my questions or fit me into her schedule. The food was incredible as always (and one of our biggest reasons for picking this venue) and the wait staff was incredible. They set aside food for us in chase we didn't get a chance to eat, were always there to get me a drink, and even rearranged the dessert display when they found out a family member set it up incorrectly. I had too many other vendors to worry about that day, but Elmcrest was the only one I could trust to take care...
