I’ve ate here twice since they’ve opened. First time I went there it was a little confusing. I walked around the whole building wondering which door is the right one. I was worried I’d walk in the back or something. I chose the door by the parking spots to go in. Turns out that door is ok, plus the one against Addison. The door facing the church would go into their kitchen. While waiting for my order, I was looking at the premade items behind the glass which included empanadas, churros, and other items. I asked what one was and, who I assume was the owner, said it was a tequeno which he said was a cheese stick. He gave me one for free to try. When I tried it the center was completely empty, but I’m sure they’re good when they do have the cheese in the center. We also ordered one of each of the empanadas, two cali burritos, and carne asada fries. All were good besides the empanadas. They had good flavor, but were not crispy and not very hot. The Cali burritos were exactly how you’d hope, they do not skimp on the guac in them either! The carne asada fries were also great as I hoped, just the right amount of toppings with the perfect ratio of everything. We were given two of their green salsas, an orange sweeter salsa, and a garlic sauce. All of those were very good!! The green salsas are what I’d consider medium hot, they’re slightly creamy maybe with avocado blended in so it does help with the heat. The orange salsa is amazing, no noticeable heat and it’s on the sweeter side. The garlic sauce was creamy and also no heat at all.
Todays visit we ordered a Cali burrito, pabellon arepa, nachos, and large horchata. I was so disappointed we didn’t get that amazing orange salsa from last time! Whatever it is, it seems like it might me a mango type salsa since it is sweet and bright orange, don’t let the color scare you it’s completely mild. The nachos were just store bought round tortilla chips and a side of nacho cheese. Think like movie theatre nachos. Which I did enjoy because I saw a picture of them so I knew what to expect, but others may not know it’s chips and nacho cheese. The horchata was really good. Comes in what’s normally a boba tea cup which is interesting. Large isn’t your typical large for horchata, but it is tasty. Quality of their meats (we only have tried the carne asada and the shredded beef on the arepa) have been very good both visits. The arepa was also very good but the meat was only in the first couple bites on top and the rest was beans and plantains. They have only been here about a week now, so I’m sure they’ll work out the few kinks. I do think their food warmer that the empanadas are in may not be good enough, or flash fry them before giving them out to reheat perhaps. Maybe get a window put in the doors for entry or some signage. Also get self closing doors it was a bit hard to have to close the door behind me when leaving with my order. With all that being said, I do have high hopes for this place and I will continue to eat here regularly! Please keep making the orange sauce and next time I’ll specifically...

Read moreTucked away like a true hidden gem, this restaurant hit the spot! From the moment my bf & I walked in, the vibe was effortlessly welcoming. We ordered the “Chicago-Style” burrito, chicken tacos, cheese and chicken empanadas. OMG, EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS!🤤 The meat was fresh & seasoned to perfection. We ended up purchasing a second round of the empanadas to go - hands down the best I’ve ever had. 😆
The staff was top-notch professional & were genuinely interested to make our first experience worthwhile. The bright, casual setup by the window was the last perfect touch. Sometimes it’s the simplest meals, made well & shared with someone you care about, that leave the best taste in your memory. ✨
