Mr.taco — Restaurant in Jemison

My own experience is what Google asks for, so that's what it'll be. I suppose I'll start from the beginning. My wife and I moved to the Jemison area 2 years ago. A few months later, we were invited to go with some newly met friends. Upon walking through the doors, I heard "Ring of Fire". That being said, I've been to many a Mexican restaurants across the country, and haven't heard that serenade in a single one... I knew I was in a special place. A year plus later and I've yet to prove myself wrong on that notion. Now for the food part of the review. If you want fast food, ol' McDonald's is 1000 yards away; i recommend you go there. If you prefer authentic homemade Hispanic food, i highly recommend trying here. The camarones el diabla lives up to its name, too devilish for me, and that says a lot about the hot. Huaraches were my go-to for months, but I've been killing the Don Miguel lately though. Like margaritas? Well, they'll warm you up on a cold night, and dull the sweltering sweat away on a summer day. I ordered 2 asada Huaraches and 2 asada tacos, and they were fantastic. The food I ordered was perfect, it tasted great, and was cooked well.

The customer service was not good. I called in my order to-go. I was given the wrong order and charged for it. This was my first time ever eating here. A woman, I do not know her name, she took over my order and my refund. She was obviously angry, and she raised her voice at me. I got a refund for the order I was charged for, and I was told that I was "not allowed" to get chips & salsa with my food, because I kept the chips & salsa from the order they gave to me. I didn't ask for chips & salsa with my correct order. This woman was cussing in Spanish, I guess she thought that the customers (including myself) didn't speak Spanish, but I do, I am bilingual. I was extremely uncomfortable, she was very upset and making it obvious to everybody. I got a refund for the incorrect order, and paid the correct amount for my order, and left a top. Dude, this looks like the biggest dive mexican restaurant you've ever seen. We stopped here out of desperation after trying to find something to eat in the sprawling metropolis of Jemison. We came here because we were pressed for time trying to get to a football game and we knew you can usually get fed at mexican restaurants pretty quick. Well, it wasn't particularly fast but it was delicious! Like all of these restaurants, they have the usual mexican fare but i noticed they had several items with home made tortillas so i gave it a try. I had a steak and a chicken quesa taco. They came out with a deep fried home made tortilla taco shell stuffed with cheese, meat, pico, cilantro, lime and cucumber. Yes, cucumber. They were probably the best tacos ive ever had.
