We went to Bar BQ Village on 02 Nov 19. We ordered food worth of more than $50 for 2 people. We requested 2 raitas, 2 Chatnis, and 2 salads for two people with 2 orders of complete meals. The young guy with full facial BEARD (the son of Mr. Ali Kitabi) became rude with us, and asked us "So you want me to bring you one more salad for this much food". We told him that we will pay for the salads, raitas, and chatnis, just charge us. He kept on giving us attitude verbally. He started rolling his eyes. All this took place infront of a less than 2 year old child. This guy is the main reason we will never go back to Bar BQ Village. We will also let our friends and relatives know to boycott this establishment. Why couldn't (the son of Mr. Ali Kitabi), the BEARDED guy just provide us with salads, and charge us is beyond my comprehension. We kept on telling him that we will pay for the salads, chatnis, and raitas, but he displayed extreme anger towards us, and our little child. Our child was crying but did not bother any customers, nor did he engage in any destructive behaviors. Mr. Kitabi should publicly post the in store surveillance video on YouTube if he feels that his son's rude behavior was justified. Mr. Kitabi's son is rude, obnoxious, and carries a stinking attitude just like that of a street bum. We asked him for to go boxes, and he gave us only one, and wanted us to pack unfinished liquid and solid foods for 2 people together in only one box. We needed 3 boxes for the solid foods, and 2 cups for the liquids. Mr. Kitabi's son made us wait for more than 15 minutes to provide us with food boxes which were placed behind the register. He did bring us salads, but only after we were done eating. Mr. Kitabi's son is highly experienced in providing rude customer service even after charging the customers. Bar BQ Village owners should request the Khan Bar BQ to teach them about customer service. Bar BQ owners are rude...
Read moreSo I went there on the Memorial Day weekend for the first time and immediately fall in love with it. I'm originally from Karachi where the desi bar b q scene is one of the best in the world. I know my seekh kebabs and Tikka well. And is always on the look out for authentic taste wherever I go. I'm afraid to say Houston with all it's hub hub, failed to impress me in authentic kebab scene for long till I visited Bundu Khan. But then it was too far away from 290 and on top of it expensive. At first instance I accepted the cost because of its authentic taste but then I came across Bar B Q village. And when you can get the same authentic taste for a reasonable price and located ideally on my commute to and from Houston it was a natural choice. The owner Hasan there was very courteous and open to suggestions. He spent a good amount of time with us on the table for getting to know his customer needs and to better serve them without intruding the privacy. That on top of the taste is the winner formula for getting on my go-to places for food. He told us about their buffet they offer every Thursday. Considering 3 hour commute up and down Houston and that on a working day was deal breaker but the anticipation of tasting the whole variety of bar b q they have to offer for only $11 dollars was too good to be true so I had to give it a try. Today I tried it and I would say the crowd they had today was nothing for the taste, quality and price they are offering it for. Houstonians are missing on a great opportunity of eating out a day of the week for such a reasonable price. There should be ques outside the place but probably people still don't know about it. So guys it's a must try give it a shot while the offer lasts and I'm sure you'll not be disappointed because I wasn't. P.S. they need to up their biryani have though, but then who cares, it's not biryani village at the end...
Read moreSalaam. We were invited to an Iftar and dinner last evening (Saturday - 04/08/2023), this was our first time visit to this eating place. We have been living in Houston area over 30 years and this is probably the worst restaurant we have ever ate with very poor quality foods and extremely poor quality service. Iftar was horrible with few chana and pakura which tasted horrible.
At dinner, Biriyani had no meat (just rice), curries had absolutely no meat (just gravy), chicken tikkas were dry and hard, naan breads were hard and tasted like rubber, salad tray had nothing but some onions. Serving people were just standing with no movements to get food trays refilled. Tea urn was empty and never refilled.
Place was so congested and unsafe, no space to move around by fire department number of attendance code and they should issue citation for this violation.
Whoever paid for this gathering should get his or her money back. We wouldn't even eat at this place place even they give us free foods. I would not suggest anyone to waste their hard earned money eating at this place.
If they couldn't serve big gathering like this, they should not accept reservation, it's all about greed without caring about maintaining quality standards. I can go on but I will stop here.
Please save your money and eat at Savoy, Royal, Mezban, Tempura, Aga (the best quality foods and top notch service, no wonder they are on the top in entire USA), Elite, DDK Kabab, Bundu Khan, Yasmin Caffe, Maharaja off Highway 6 and Westpark Dr (best place for Iftar and dinner package). etc. and other Pakistani restaurants, you may ever pay much less with higher quality foods and service.
Thank you...
