Pho 18 — Restaurant in Jersey Village

i really wanted some viet food, specifically banh mi AND pho ga, but it’s actually kind of difficult to find a place that sells both. i tried this place because they had both at a pretty reasonable price. boy howdy what a surprise!! i was expecting something different from the outside but its truly so cute indoors. the ac works well too lol. theyve got really pretty decor, good service, and theyre really clean. nothing felt sticky or unkempt which is just really important for me.

i got a water, a fresh strawberry soda, shrimp spring rolls, pork egg rolls, a pork banh mi, and chicken pho. the strawberry soda was really tasty, classic kind of lemony lime base with tasty strawberry reduction… stuff? its like muddles with strawberries or something. super tasty and comes sealed like a boba. the spring rolls came with enough peanut sauce for an army. the pork egg rolls were super crunchy and light. the pho was good, chicken was super tender and flavorful, and was super duper hot coming out of the kitchen. the pork banh mi…. just omg. its five bucks and fifty cents and so so mind blowingly good. the baguette is crunchy, but really delicate, so it doesnt rip up the roof of your mouth at all when you bite into it. the pork itself is super grilled/smoky and contrasts really well with the carrots and cucumber.

the total came out to 33.61 with tax, and i tipped the waitress twenty bucks on top cause she was super sweet. this place is awesome, definitely...

Update September 2024: Pho 18 had new management, and the quality and standards are just as high as the previous owners. I like that they've added edamame to the appetizer options. They continue to offer a delicious veggie broth and tofu that perfectly accommodates a vegan WFPB lifestyle. Also, the new owner/chef is vegan!! She can even do an off-menu delicious Shaken Tofu! I added a plate of "pho veggies" to amp up the veggies. It is so yummy! This is great news for any vegans who want to know their food is truly vegan.

Update: Pho 18 remains or very favorite pho restaurant. If anything, it had just gotten better since my original review. The staff is wonderful, the restaurant is clean, and the food is always the highest quality!

Pho 18 stands out in the tons of Pho restaurants here in Houston because of the quality of the food and the customer service. I'm vegan, so having a veggie broth option is important to me. So many Pho restaurants do not offer this at all! The veggie broth is delicious!! There are also other vegan options like the tofu fried rice, veggie bun, stir-fried noodles, spring rolls, and veggie egg rolls. All that said, being remembered after the second time we visited and greeted with a smile makes everything about Pho 18...

Had it for delivery through grub hub. Grub hubs menu does not match theirs. They substituted dishes without asking! Left off parts of orders but still charged full price!!! Chicken bones in the fried rice! No veggies served with dishes that were supposed to get them! Bad part is food was pretty good, but won’t be going back due to all of this! Oh and they sent an email about the substitutions when I called to report the issues after telling me they spoke to someone!

Update after response from owner: You should probably talk to grub hub and figure out which menu they are using cause it is costing you money. I paid $12 for the fried shrimp. And most importantly you should not lie to customers and say you spoke to someone from the household about the replacements. Also the picture on the menu you sent shows veggies with...
