Flounder Fish & Chicken — Restaurant in Jersey Village

Let me give you my opinion before social media finds this place....So I found this place just driving by and was curious so finally decided to give it a try today...here's where the fun begins...walked in and was completely empty (always a bad sign for me)...floors were very sticky and had a weird smell which my wife pointed out... it looked very plain and quickly put together just to open asap...so we both ordered the same thing and when I sat down to start taking pictures for my review I noticed that my receipt said "wings" and we both ordered fish and shrimp so I went up to the counter and started saying "hey my receipt says wings but we orde....." before the guy took off ruining to the back then came back and said what did you order...I said the fish and shrimp... he went back to the back and got my correct order in...we got our order and it looked pretty good but when we started eating we both looked at each other waiting for one of us to say something... here is both of our opinions...the shrimp tasted like it was frozen, the fries weren't crispy, the fish (which was supposed to be catfish but wasn't) was just ok but very bland however it was crunchy and eatable... so on on the menu it showed a dinner roll which none of us got so I went to ask and he brought them and they were crazy hot from a microwave and tasted soapy/chemically weird...my wife asked for fruit punch and it came to us blue haha I told her well looks like you're getting blue something...then I asked for napkins and they said they didn't have any so I had to go to my car to get my stash... the hot sauce was very watered down, the "tartar" sauce tasted like mayonnaise...for the price I guess we got what we paid for however this will not be a place we would revisit unfortunately... if you give it a try and have a different opinion please let me know what you ordered..... happy...

Ok, so my husband and I were out last night and he had a craving for fried catfish. We wanted a quick order and pickup, but I warned him that finding a place with real catfish is tough these days—too many restaurants pass off swai as catfish. I did a quick Google search for fried fish spots that don’t serve swai, and this place popped up with great reviews. Honestly, after looking at the photos online, I thought there was no way they served authentic catfish...but I figured, what the heck, let’s give it a try. We got there around 9:30 a.m. and I went inside to check it out. The place was very clean (though it had a slight smell, as many seafood places do). Before ordering, I wanted to confirm the catfish was real. I asked the guy at the counter if they served swai. He said “no.” I asked, “So your catfish is actual catfish, not swai?” He said, “Yes, it’s catfish.” I asked again—“Real catfish?”—and again, he said yes. At that point, I’m sure he was wondering why I kept asking, but honestly, I’ve been burned too many times by places serving fake catfish. To my surprise, and delight, it was the real deal. The catfish was excellent: well-seasoned, hot, and fresh. We also ordered wings and shrimp, and they were just as good. Everything was flavorful and cooked perfectly. This place is legit—definitely a new go-to spot when we’re craving fried...

5 ⭐️ Right off the bat....fresh and perfectly seasoned! I usually avoid fried food spots because they go heavy on the salt/cajun seasoning but this place got it just right. I ordered through DoorDash and couldn’t leave a “no salt” note for my fries, but I didn’t need to. The fries were lightly seasoned, the catfish was crispy and flavorful, and the wings were spot-on. Generous portions and surprisingly clean-tasting for fried food. I also called after ordering to request sauce, it came in a small container, and I just wish there was a little more. I’ll definitely be trying more from the menu! Gizzards? 😉

Can’t believe I had to update my rating so soon. Got stale, cold inedible fries, and ordered corn on the cob but got onion rings instead. Scanty portion. Called the store, and the cashier asked what I wanted to do about it—shouldn’t they be offering the solution? If this how inconsistent they are I won't be returning.
