My Wife and I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience for our 14th Anniversary on July 14th. Upon approaching our table, the staff had candlelight and rose petals scattered about our table. That was a very welcoming surprise to start our evening. The ambiance was very nice in the restaurant. The lights were low and there was a very cozy atmosphere. Our waitress was simply magnificent and I'm so upset with myself that I forgot her name. I will provide an update because I believe I have her name written down somewhere. She took very good care of us the entire night. We started off with some bread, some appetizers, and a couple of cocktails. My wife had the crab cakes and Cucumber Blueberry Martini to start off. I had the Field Green, Pear, & Candied Pecaned Salad and a glass of Moscato. The crab cakes were ok, but my salad and my Wife's drink were extraordinary. And you can't go wrong with a glass of Moscato. Since I'm a vegetarian, I had the Spaghetti Squash Primavera. My Wife ordered Perry's Famous Pork Chops and I see exactly how it got its name. Everything was well plated and looked delicious, especially my Wife's pork chops. Ofcourse, she only had a few bites and she was done. She gave it rave reviews. Naturally, she took the rest home, but she just had to savor those few bites. My meal was ok. I would have liked some of that seasoned savory goodness that my Wife got to experience. We enjoyed each other's company and some more cocktails for the rest of the evening. For our Anniversary, we received a complimentary dessert trio which was absolutely splendid. Overall, it was a great experience. Before I forget, I ordered a Rocky Road Bread Pudding to take home with me. I wish I would have eaten it at the restaurant just to see how it was plated because it was humungous. I got a little creative at home and did a little plating of my own and was just perplexed of how that whole dessert is put together. The taste was out of this world. I would drive to Perry's just to order that bread pudding and sit there and savor it for hours. It's just that good. And on that note, I have nothing more to say!

This is quite possibly the worst steak place I've ever dined in. I imagine 20+ years ago it was excellent. There's no doubt that their attempts to maximize their profit has caused a lot of cost cutting measures, including quality & service. Don't get me wrong, the staff were kind, but this by far NOT an excellent dining experience. When you spend well over $50/person you expect it to be great. We began with escargot, the snails were cooked good, but the "puff" pastry was as hard as a hockey puck. The tepid water glasses were constantly filled, but the mocktail was not good, a great server would have noticed that it sat full throughout the meal & would have inquired. Plates from appetizers & salad were not removed before or even during the serving of the entree, the table was barely cleaned prior to dessert. The entrees were lackluster, the lamb & crab smelled off, the asparagus was extremely over cooked. The sauces were lackluster, the bbq sauce tasted sub par of commercially available and the steak fries were actually potato logs. It was definitely NOT a great option to celebrate a birthday, the bananas foster was more like receiving a barely ripe banana with a crust similar to that of a creme brulee. As I said, staff was friendly, spoke a good game, but this restaurant is no better than any other franchise restaurant you come across. It doesn't hold a candle to other TX steakhouses and is nowhere near the level of a Ruth's Chris or Capital Grill. Overall it was a big disappointment.

This experience fell short from the start. Let me preface this by acknowledging it is a busy restaurant on a Saturday night, but having worked all aspects of the industry, an establishment like this should be a well oiled machine and I could see that some parts may have been as some patrons seemed to have attentive servers. The other tables our server had got attention. We did not. Just because we aren’t drinking alcohol, does not mean we are not prepared to drop some coin on a nice meal. We never got bread. Is that something we have to ask for? The floor manager (I’m guessing) even brought our steak knives and should have noticed that we didn’t have bread. Our server didn’t go past our table after she took our order until after our food came. When she took our order she serversplained the meat temp I ordered…. I know what I ordered. I usually order it mooing but asked med rare this time. It came out medium at best and it was the toughest and saltiest filet I've ever had. I also ordered the thick bacon topper and it was a 12inch by 1/2 inch piece of caramelized fat. Should be a good 70/30 fat to meat ratio. Couldn’t finish that either. Our server walked past the table and asked how we were doing at one point, but answered for us as she walked past and didn’t stop to look and see that we didn’t have one of the sides we had ordered either or see that my filet looked like it went through a meat grinder. I asked to have my food wrapped up so I could at least take it home to my dogs and she asked if I wanted to wrap it myself. I saw other servers take their guest’s food, wrap it up, and bring it back to them. Not my table. I got to fumble with the take out containers that the lid doesn’t actually fit well on the container(shame on you Perry’s for making your servers deal with that non stop… what a hassle) or she brought the wrong one. I’m not sure but I was so over it that I just put it all in the bag and tried to keep the meat in the container in the bag. My husband and I are always generous tippers so she still got more than 20%, but we prefer to have our expectations exceeded and feel the need to leave 50-70%. We don’t get to have a date night often. Our middle son has a chronic illness and it’s rare he is feeling well enough that we can go further away than the casual dining in our...

We've dined at various Perry's and have really enjoyed our experiences, so my hubby booked my birthday dinner at the Perry's on Cypresswood in Houston. It was our first time dining at this location. Our server was David Snyder and he was awesome! The atmosphere was lively and romantic. We wanted wine with our dinner and were impressed with the selection of wines from various regions and grape varietals. I'm SUUUPER specific about the notes I like and would have loved speaking with a sommelier, but there was no sommelier to help. However, there is a QR code on the wine list that is awesomely helpful in narrowing down a selection. We ordered based on the app and LOVED our Italian Merlot ("Promis").

For appetizers, we selected oysters on the half shell and the Tuna Tartare Tower. Enjoyed the oysters and would not recommend the Tuna Tartare. It was diced very small and mixed with avocado, which made it mushy. The bread and Ranch Vinegerette were awesome!

For our main course, my hubby chose a bone-in New York strip. He said it was flavorfully good, but very grisselly. He wouldn't order it again. I had the Sea Bass on corn. The Sea Bass was the size and shape of a biscuit cutter. I had envisioned an actual fish on a plate so I didn't think to ask how it presented. It was pretty good, but I wouldn't get it again. The corn that it was served on was yummy!

For sides, we shared fried asparagus, butternut squash, and mushrooms. The fried asparagus was served with crab on top. I liked the crab; hubby liked the asparagus. The butternut squash was beyond the most delicious I've ever tasted. I could've made it my main course. Cannot say enough good things about that squash. The mushrooms were fine. We brought them home to use in something else we'll eat later.

For dessert, we wanted the chocolate cake with table side flamed cherries but, to our disappointment, they were out of it, so we opted for the seasons pumpkin cheesecake. It was good, but that chocolate would've been better with that last sip of Merlot.

Overall, we loved our server and the ambiance, the wine was fantastic, and the butternut squash was so good that I'd be tempted to order it for pick-up to-go as my meal. The rest of it was not enough to...
