Future residents there are a couple of things to be aware of before you decide to lease here. It is a BEAUTIFUL property filled with great amenities ! The staff is nice and attentive and the property is normally clean (besides the large quantity of pet feces) which is typically cleared in the morning . Unfortunately, residents looking to lease that are of a minority race if a racial incident arises on the premises the leasing staff as well as the management company will totally disregard it. For example : Jan 10 a Caucasian resident stopped abruptly at the gate to prevent me from entering . After driving around her, she proceeds to roll down her window to ask me “if I belonged here”. I explained that I was not going to respond to her racial profiling and I proceeded to park at the office to have the leasing staff explain to her that I was a resident. She decided to instead drive to the back of the complex. So I drove to the back of the complex and retrieved her license plate and immediately contacted the leasing office. She stayed in her car on the phone with “a cop friend” as explained to me by the property manager. While I waited for the staff to show up she exited her car exclaiming “they are on their way to handle you”. After explaining for the second time to staff what happened they were not shocked about what happened and knew the resident without any further information. The property manager walked directly to her apartment and she refused to answer the door or any calls from the staff. She waited 11 days before presenting her account of the incident. Staff explained to me that they had called numerous times within this 11 day window with no response. San Marino’s management company Reef Residential has denied my request for an email to be sent to residents urging them to not police the gate and to allow our courtesy officer to handle trespassing. I have been told because it is an “isolated incident” they will not be doing anything about it and Karissa (reef residential employee) repeatedly explained that if I feel unsafe again that I should call the police. (Nonchalantly I may add) I have lived here for a year and eight months and urge anyone looking to move in to assess the competitive area for a more inclusive and...
Read moreI believe I was discriminated against here for being a black woman. I was an excellent candidate for an apartment. I have excellent credit 680 score, clean background, and a successful business making six figures. I passed all the requirements and I was respectful and timely with everything they asked. The manager informed me I was approved and I saw it on the screen. Also I have almost $70,000 in my savings account. Not only did they reject me, but then tried to change the rules every time I had a rebuttal for why I was qualified. They said they needed 3 bank statements, then they said 6 months worth.I gave them 10 months worth of bank statements. Then he said they needed tax return, or they were going to reject my application in 24 hours. And manager was judging me because I hadn’t done my taxes yet, take note he’s not a business owner so he doesn’t know what difference it takes to do your taxes when you are self employed. He seemed vengeful towards me because I confronted him about not being honest about requirements. I offered to pay the rent for the year to make them comfortable ($17,000). I own the most booked catering company in the city’.The anguish of being treated like you’re not good enough is profound. I am an active member in the community, business scholar, preacher, and christian woman. I have decided to contact the state, the city, fair housing, and community organizations about this injustice. It is a crime to discriminate housing against someone in Texas. I am an American citizen. I am an extremely successful single black woman. I will fight this injustice with everything I have. I believe they looked me up and saw I was black. If they discriminate against you here, make it your business to file complaints, sue, and write reviews. Our voice will be heard and they will...
Read moreI've had the pleasure of residing at San Marino Apartments in Houston for over three years, and it's been an absolutely wonderful journey. The apartments themselves are a dream, equipped with sleek stainless steel appliances and maintained to perfection. Any maintenance issues were swiftly addressed, usually within 48 hours for regular concerns and immediately for emergencies, thanks to their efficient online property portal.
Safety and security are top priorities here. During a spate of catalytic converter thefts from Toyota Trucks citywide, the management proactively hired a 24/7 private security patrol, ensuring our peace of mind. This thoughtful initiative truly set San Marino apart.
The amenities further elevate the living experience to resort levels—boasting two pools, a hot tub, a state-of-the-art gym with Peloton bikes and Tonal machines, and even luxury leisure options like a poker and pool table, a multimedia room with Apple computers, complimentary coffee, and regular food truck and resident events. It's clear the community spirit is strong and vibrant here.
A special shoutout to Brayden, the office manager, for his exceptional accommodation during my busy work schedule and move-out process. His professionalism and empathy were greatly appreciated.
Pro Tip: Stay diligent with your rent payments. The quality and upkeep of this complex are well worth the cost, but they are understandably strict about payment timelines.
Living at San Marino has been a remarkable experience, blending luxury, convenience, and a tight-knit community feel. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for an outstanding living...
