Shipley Do-Nuts — Restaurant in Jersey Village

During my recent visit to this particular location, I was disappointed once again with the quality of the food. The donuts were rushed out the door and in odd shapes/appearance and taste; it's not what I was expecting from this chain. The kolache, which used to be a highlight of my visits, had a strange aftertaste that made it nearly inedible.

Not only was the taste disappointing, but the overall presentation was also lacking. The donuts looked unappetizing, lacking the usual vibrant colors and enticing glazes that I have seen in the past. It seemed as though they were rushed out to fill the orders from the store front and drive through.

As a loyal customer, it pains me to say that this particular location has failed to live up to the high standards set by other locations of this chain. The decline in food quality is concerning, and it makes me question whether I will continue to support this establishment in the future.

I sincerely hope that the management takes these concerns seriously and takes the necessary steps to rectify the issues at hand. As a longtime customer, I believe that this location has great potential, but it is currently falling short. I hope to see improvements in the near future so that I can once again enjoy the delicious donuts and kolache that I have come to love from this chain since childhood. I'll give this location one (1)...

U are seeing correctly.. its MOLD! They said it's not mold but I've never gotten donuts from any other Shipley's like this. They said it's from the machine but like I've said I've NEVER gotten donuts like this ever from any donut location before. We ordered a dozen for work and everyone ate them but 3 and when I went to get mine I just so happened to look underneath and there it was. I called to nicely complain maybe they can do something about it and they just said they can refund me on the 3 donuts since the other ones were eaten. That made me upset. Smh. Come on lady (Maria was her name), make it right, clean your machine and refund all the money, are y'all gonna pay for medical bills if someone ends up sick?! Now I'm praying our coworkers don't get sick due to their lack of keeping machines clean. This was sooo embarrassing for me and now our coworkers don't want anything from this location. Everyone was so disgusted and literally traumatized. I wish we had the option to give NO STARS cause they don't...

I have been going to the same Shipleys (34th & Ella) for over 30 years. Now that I live with my son who lives near this location. I have to say very disappointed. Maybe it’s just me, but the quality and quantity for the buck means so much. That’s why I’ve been going to the other location for so long. They don’t count the donut holes, they just fill up the bag. The glazed are fresh and these tasted like they had been sitting there. Also the kolaches, these use so much bread, I had enough to make another after eating only two! Also, not fresh, even if you heat them up to hide it! My son came back from the Army and I wanted to surprise him (because Shipleys is his favorite)….next time I will make the drive!
