The most unprofessional careless dealership I've had the displeasure of working with. I brought my motorcycle in for a "proper" dealer to inspect a recently installed quickshifter and ensure everything was safe and done correctly. The quickshifter was already in working condition and it was only to be inspected and verified it was safe. The check in process not only took forever as the front desk employee Nick must've been new because he took about 30 minutes just to get my bike taken into the back and asked numerous questions to another employee whom knew what they were doing. Ignoring these red flags I get quoted 250$ for their mechanic to inspect the wires that were immediately visible and for him to heatshrink two wires out of many that should have been inspected. When they attempt to return my motorcycle I ask if he at least verified the wires underneath the tank in which he replies he did not. I get charged an extra 35$ for them to take a look underneath the tank and ziptie a two wires once again. By the time my motorcycle was returned the verification job was so sloppy that in the process of zip tying and heat shrinking the wires they disconnected my front and rear turn signals. The mechanic unaware of this told me it was completely fine and inspected. They attempted to return the bike to me without verifying the signals brakes and daytime running lights work which was against protocol according to James Martin. Fortunately I noticed right away and had them look at it before I drove off. After another hour and a half they couldn't figure out how to fix my turning signals. I was promised a full refund come Tuesday by Nick the front desk employee. I called in Tuesday and was told to come in and have the bike looked at as they immediately went back on their word for the promised refund. By this point I already had the bike looked at by a real Yamaha dealer whom in less than 10 minutes found the fix for my turn signals. They properly inspected the full harness and piece and rewired everything. In the process of this they found that several wires were getting destroyed by my fan and would have been a safety hazard in the immediate future; contrary to the mechanic from Houston Motorsports that said "It's fully inspected and safe". They regarded how an absolute joke Houston Motorsports is for not only not being able to fix the turn signals that they damaged but for such a sloppy, lack of effort job to inspect the piece I paid them to inspect. By the time I returned to Houston Motorsports I met with the manager named James Martin whom attempted to gaslight me into believing that the lack of inspection and damage done to my bike by Houston Motorsports wasn't their fault. He had almost zero knowledge on what had taken place during my visit there but had a stockpile of excuses and lies on the situation. He attempted to justify the mechanics lack of care and interest and literally attempted to lie about the stores policy of which was broken numerous times. James Martin should absolutely not be a service manager his lack of professionalism and knowledge on my case with the attempted lies and gaslighting is absolutely unprofessional. This was the worst experience I've had in a dealership in my twenty-six years of experience. I was about to make a purchase on a 6500$ new motorcycle from this dealership (Houston Motorsports) the deal was already negotiated and credit ran the only missing piece was the check from my bank in which I was going to come back and buy after my refund was issued on this specific case but after the unprofessional service techs, front desk, and manager I took my business elsewhere. They not only lied, damaged, and took zero accountability in their actions for 300$ but they lost my business forever. I purchased the same exact motorcycle at another dealer that is far more reputable and professional than this horrible placed called Houston Motorsports. Beware of this corrupt so called business.
Reply: I have documented proof of how I had it re-looked at the same day! Only...

At first glance it seemed like Houston Motorsports was the right place to be for a plethora of reasons: Options/stock/accessories/servicing/atmosphere etc..
But what I think has let us down so far is a bait and switch tactic used to entice us to make the deal we made.
We were under the assumption that the unit we purchased had certain features and were told so when comparing models. We’re not the experts, so we trusted what we were given.
After deciding on a price and adding around 4k worth of accessories, which we did in order to spec out the Mule over what the sales person said the other unit had. Unfortunately, we were oblivious to what we would come find was missing, when we reviewed the overall features the next day.
Don’t get me wrong, we like the unit and have no remorse, as we can use this machine on our hunting lease as is.
However, we felt specifically, that the unit we were buying all along had the self leveling suspension at the rear, which it doesn’t and that was a major selling point, as upgrading the suspension via aftermarket parts - is a huge cost factor we were not expecting.
After speaking with the sales guy throughout the following few days, we were told the following: 1.There’s nothing we can do and it’s a done deal. 2.Our buyers remorse is killing all the fun. 3.We never asked for that feature. 4.That feature (we personally think is useful) is not useful. 5.Offered a potential work around on a swap - but has not followed through on any further info of it being approved by upper management/owner.
Prior to item #5, were told we would receive a call to pickup our unit Wednesday or Thursday at the latest but nobody has reached out and I am concerned we’re being ignored, so that the accessories are completely installed on the current model - which would essentially mean we can’t return any of the add-ons or be provided any other resolution.
Honestly, we enjoyed the whole process other than a few missed opportunities, that are making this out to be a very bad experience.
Update: Salesman texted this morning and let us know he’s been working with the banks and it seems there’s nothing that can be done.
2025 Update to your latest response:
That is false, a refund for the entirety of the purchase was not offered. Your team relayed that they were not able to come to a resolution with the banks and ultimately we were stuck with our purchase.
It is also not entirely true that your team offered free parts/accessories. It wasn’t until after multiple broken timelines and promises made over multiple weeks to months, that this was even an option brought forward. Which even then, I had insisted on these alternatives for compensation, not your team.
To make matters worse, your team even insisted that these items did not include installation and that I was expected to pay for the labor.
It would have been easier for your team to stick to their word or a reasonable timeline on items we purchased far in advance, yet you failed on all fronts to provide even a glimpse of understanding, empathy and proper communication regarding every aspect that makes up the foundation of your business.
I was going to alter my review, but seeing how your latest response shows your true intent on making my review seem illegitimate. I believe other buyers should really think twice before purchasing from you guys. It’s unfortunate.
However, your service department (workers) have better communication and actually tried to provide great support and attentiveness. So for them, I give 5 stars.
Blake, sorry bud, but you have a lot to learn about being a manager of any sort, if this is the kind of treatment and effort...
Read morePlease read my edits to this review below!! I tried to buy a motorcycle here. It was like pulling teeth. I kept calling and calling and trying to get appointments. Nothing but false promises and then getting completely ignored. They ran my credit though. After that, nothing. I was trying to trade in my 2022 Kawasaki as well as offered quite large down payments. So if it was credit, that was a non-issue. After everything was set and done much more than half of the motorcycle would have been paid for. Even if they just didn't want to finance the motorcycle I would have went ahead and paid for the whole thing! As far as I could tell it was just a lack of willingness to do the job. If you ever have to hound a salesman to sell you something, it's a huge red flag. And I called/texted these people for weeks. I will never again attempt to do business at this location and will find the motorcycle elsewhere, where they actually want to help people. An absolute shame.
Edit: after reading other reviews I'd like to add a bit of info. It was mostly Matt (sales) and Renee (finance) that I was in touch with and completely ignored by. One of the numerous times I called, I explained the situation to Josh (sales) and he seemed genuinely apologetic and willing to help me. I'm a salesman as well so my best guess as to why he didn't take over is because he doesn't want to 'steal' commission from a coworker. He got me in touch with another helpful woman in finance (don't think I caught her name) and I was then put back in contact with Renee who did actually call me late that night. I felt bad that she was working so late and told her I had no problem with picking up from there the next morning. She swore to call me the next morning and I made sure to make myself available but, surprise, that didn't happen. That's when I gave up. Besides, it's probably been 30 days of trying at this point and I'm not willing to have my credit take another hit just to have this happen all over again.
Edit 2: reached out to the owner after he replied to this review and he looked into everything I was saying. He owned the issue wholeheartedly and promised to take steps to prevent these communication issues going forward. That's really all I wanted is for somebody to take accountability and he did. That's enough for me to update my rating from one to three stars because, while the owner did take accountability and address my concerns, my experience with those employees still matters. As stated, I'll just purchase the bike I wanted elsewhere. No big deal and all is well that ends well. It sounds like there are other sales reps at this location who are more than happy to assist such as Josh. I'd highly recommend him based on our brief...
