Where to begin when every aspect of your meal was either wrong, disgusting, or served too slowly. First off, I am 100% sure that the majority of their food is pre-packaged GARBAGE, considering the cardboard flavor in the rice, beans, and tortillas. Long story short, I would never eat here again and am not surprised local Mexican folks do not patronize this horror show. For the long story, read below. It was a hellish top 3 worst meals in our lives that also happened to ruin date night.
My first sign for whether a Mexican place is going to be good is gauged, in the start, by the salsa served with chips. It was a slightly fresher version of a pre-made bottled salsa. Weirdly sweet, smooth, with no real fresh ingredients to speak of.
I ordered a mojito and the wife got a magarita. Mint was not muddled and it taste like 7 up with booze. It was not tasty or crisp at all. the wife's "premium" margarita was boozey and taste like the cheapest mix you can find. It too was terrible. By this timeI told my wife that my sudden gut feeling to want to go elsewhere should have been heeded, but it was not and she started to agree but is more apologetic about bad drinks than I am. My second drink I asked for a dos equis amber with 2 limes, she brings it in the bottle. You know, two limes kind of constitutes a glass, or at least asking if I would like one. She was only person to not ask or just bring a glass, EVER, and we go out to eat far too much. Like become a hobby too much.
We ordered an appetizer, "Queso with NO chorizo, please". They made it with chorizo and the waitress was kind enough to tell me they had to remake. Well, a minute later another server brought out what we thought was our new queso. I even said, "wow, that was very fast, thank you." we get half way through it to realize it has a little chorizo in a layer inside the cheese. UGH. I did not notice the taste of the chorizo because the queso comes with a roasted jalapeno and it killed my ability to taste the chorizo so we stormed thorough it being hungry anyway. The server saw the chorizo and put up a stink about it being served with it. nothing but lip service in my opinion, it felt forced and not genuine upset about the mistake. I was still nice.
I ordered the 3 tacos and my wife ordered the fajitas.
First my tacos were so incredibly leaning towards fat in the fat/meat ratio i couldn't eat it. My wife will eat anything and thought it was very low quality fatty beef. FYI, if the place cubes carne asada, they are usually hiding low quality, fatty meat as this place is. I couldn't get through half a taco because the two bites I had was about 60% fat cubes with no taste, only chewy nasty fat. The wife's steak fajitas came out looking grey, grey, GREY. The peppers looked ok but the onions weren't fresh. Don't get me started on the weak flavored rice with the dominating flavor of cardboard packaging, and the pale grey refried beans that neither one of us would eat because it was the worst we have ever had. At this point i would rather eat cold LA Preferida refreid beans, which is the best brand BTW, but canned...
We have had some bad dining experiences and some bad food. But this place takes the cake for low quality Mexican food. It blew my mind how busy they were. All my favorite Mexican places in my old town were amazing, they made you a friend after going there enough and had lots of mexican families that ate there. My family would never eat here, it is atrocious. Trust me you won't see any REAL Italians at Olive Garden either. I am italian and have mexican in my background. I know good food, and this place is one of the worst restaurants I have eaten...
Read morethis place is better for non authentic costumers. the service was good. the food was horrible. i tried the chicken in mole. chicken was burnt outside but felt rubbery inside. the mole was horrible. i’m used to spicy mole. it was too sweet and tasted like soap. i hated it. the margaritas were good. no doubt. id only ever drop by again for a drink. never again for a meal. their shrimp and carne sucked my kabobs at home are better than this restaurants and better grilled. i like to wonder how places make their food never think “eating at home would’ve been better”. i will never return for food. but i would for a drink. our server was good. and definitely not the busy mexicans restaurants we’re used to. their costumers mostly looked like non authentic mexicans which explains their decent reviews. disappointed i traveled 40 mins on highway to try them to be served an undercooked but burnt chicken breast chopped into pieces. def not worth $19 and better yet to eat in very low music. if you plan to charge higher end prices they should at least have better lighting and music and more of a reel mexican vibe than...
Read moreHave been a long time customer there. Have had issues in the past, but nothing like the one yesterday. I had placed an order for a small office get together (5) people. Had placed the order and was read back to me correctly, but no total. I had another co-worker pick it up and pay for it. The total was higher than he thought, but was never showed a bill until he paid. Well looking at the bill back at the office and seeing all the food, we notice they charged us for 2 dinners we did not order. We were given the food, but did not order. So I called the restaurant and let them know the mistake and would like to be credited the $30ish back. They said they needed proof of the food, so I was told to bring the uneaten food back and they could try and credit the card. This is the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. The staff was very unprofessional, when asked to speak with the manager, who I have meet before, they had a cashier meet me and just look at me. She never said sorry or apologized for the inconvenience, nothing. Will never go back again and will for sure let my friends and family...
