Most disgusting experience of eating out. I visited this place with my boyfriend and we ordered chicken sandwich meal along with a combo comprising of 3pc legs, a thigh and a biscuit. The moment we entered, the atmosphere seemed a bit off. But we decided to try it out since Google reviews were good ( I wish people were more honest). So, my sandwich was nothing but bread with a thin ,stale ,oily patty of chicken having absolutely no taste. There was no lettuce or pickle or cheese. Just a tiny bit of mayonnaise which did no good. I asked if they usually add lettuce and the server said she had probably forgotten. I also asked for some honey mustard and mayonnaise ( with the hope that it would make the food more palatable). They didn't have any satchets for mayo. I was given a cup with a spoonful of mayo in it. The fried chicken was a disaster. No spice, extremely oily and seemed stale. The biscuit was hard and uneatable. I wasted $9 on such pathetic food and spoiled my Friday evening. I hope this review helps people and deters them from visiting this place...
Read moreI frequently dined on Churches Fried Chicken for 30 yrs while living in North and Central Texas. I really enjoy the Livers and Gizzards I have found at Churches.
Unfortunately, this location did not come close to matching any of the locations across Texas.
Pros: Generous portion sizes and chicken pieces. Fantastic Service. The gizzards were passable.
Cons: Sticky floors and tables, stale grease odor; the livers were salty and overcooked and the coating was a bit bitter. The chicken breast was dry and fried just shy of being burned. Could the cooking oil be too old?
I might give them one more chance in the future, but it won't be this week or even this month.
Note: I have worked in fried chicken franchises, so I have a decent background on which to...
Read moreJust spent 50$ @ Church’s Chicken in Jonesboro, Ar. I ordered the liver box - very dry tastes like plain flour, no seasoning. I ordered the gizzard box - it is dry, but does have a little salty flavor, no other seasoning. I ordered 8 chicken strips, again lightly salted & no other seasoning. Mashed potatoes were good according to my 4 yr old.But the fried rice was soggy, tastes like it has sausage (yes, pork sausage) in it. I don’t eat pork so I called them only for them to tell me I’m wrong, I don’t believe I am tho. Also ordered the jalapeño bites but haven’t tried them, everything is very greasy… Very disappointed… will not be back, a waist of 50$ because this...
