I went to this restaurant because it usually seems to have plenty of tables available and when you suddenly decide to go out to dinner when most restaurants are packed. It’s also near my home. This was the second time we visited, giving it a second try. The servers are very nice and polite (although forgetful - which has been the case both times), but the food is extremely bland and overpriced considering it lacks flavor. The pasta I had was smoking hot when it was placed on the table, but it smelled like cooked rice. The only explanation could be that it was extremely starchy from being cooked in reused water that had tons of pasta cooked in it. The “rice taste” was overpowering and the bolognese was supposed to be “cheesy” but it was a typical red sauce that desperately needed salt or a salty cheese. My husband’s eggplant parmesan was barely breaded. Garlic knots didn’t appear to be properly proofed, lacked flavor and were different sizes - mostly tiny and hard (as a result of improper proofing). They looked like thin spring rolls, but less than half the size. Envision about a 1 inch narrow cylinder… or a 4 year old child’s thumb. That was the typical appearance of half the knots while the others were 2 inches or so.Overall, everyone we interacted with were polite but the food is an absolute bland disappointment. Two people, no alcohol, and spent nearly $140 with tip. Will not return. I wish I could teach them to cook and properly season food,...
Read moreThis place is extremely busy, but when they make a mistake, they don't honor their refunds! I ordered Chicken Francaise as part of a LARGE take out meal. When home, realized they send a Parmesan instead - can't eat the cheese or the sauce. Called immediately for a credit. Took my name, but never credited my credit card. Tried to order a replacement meal and the Owner told me that they don't do that. She couldn't find my cc so basically, my money was not refunded and I paid for a meal I couldn't eat. When I mentioned that to the OWNER (and asked several questions about their menu), she had little patience. I was becoming increasingly upset with how the conversation was going, and was told that she didn't have 30 minutes to basically deal with my questions about their menu; she had customers standing in front of her! Then, she asked why I was ordering again if I wasn't happy. Well, we decided that you can keep the money you are basically stealing, and I will share this story with everyone I know. We have eaten here several times before and the food was good, but their poor business practices and the fact that they are too busy to "deal" with an unhappy customer to make things right... just awful! Btw, if you scroll down the list of reviews . . . you will see that mine is not the only one regarding a poor experience...
Read moreI literally just left this restaurant and had to leave a review because everything was fabulous. we made a last minute reservation for my birthday and from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left the service was impeccable. David, our server, was incredibly polite, prompt, and just generally wonderful. He made the entire experience worthwhile. The owner, Sani, was also very engaged with us while we were there from reccomending dishes to checking on us, and making sure I got a birthday celebration from her waitstaff. I truly cannot say enough good things about our experience here and I will absolutely be coming back. I wish I had taken pictures of the food, but alas we ate it too quickly. we had the veal chop, which was perfect in both taste and presentation, and the rigatoni with short ribs which was rich and filling. Both dishes were big enough to feed two, or three, maybe four people. Desert was tiramisu and espresso and it was the perfect way to...
