Went in the drive thru and literally just asked nicely if they could replace a burger that had a hair on it, and that I had called the week before and they told me that if I just had a picture of the receipt and food they would help me out, then they send me to go speak to the manager at the window and he starts yapping about how some guy had came in complaining about the same thing and that he wasn’t going to replace it, like bro what does that have to do with my order. Then the manager proceeds to shove a bag in my face saying if I call customer service and if they say it can be replaced then he will replace it so I call and the lady says he should replace the one burger and that she doesn’t know why he is being so defensive about replacing food with a literal HAIR in it. The Manager is acting like this burger is coming out of his paycheck, like bro it’s not that hard to just apologize and remake the item you messed up on to begin with, he was yelling like and immature child and being prideful for no reason at all. But the customer service lady heard everything and apologized and sent over gift cards for free meals that was such a nice gesture considering the situation.

Like any other In N' Out burger restaurant, their food is delicious! My only gripe with this particular location is that they have a fly fan right above you where you stand to place your order, and not only does this make it hard to hear what the staff is saying when they speak to you, but it also makes your food cold by the time you get it. My suggestion, use their drive thru to keep the food warmer by the time you receive it. Two drive-thru lanes seems as though it helps to get your food faster, however this is not the case. All the two lanes help with is to help keep the line length down. The kitchen itself is smaller than most other In N' Outs, so they cannot pump out anymore food faster than the staff in the kitchen can make the food. So don't think the two lines have anything to do with the speed at which you get your order. That being said, typically wait times are anywhere from a few minutes when no one else is ordering, all the way to 20 minutes when it's jam packed on a Friday or Saturday evening. My go to, double double (extra lettuce, extra tomato, raw onion), fries, strawberry shake...BOMBSKIES...!

So I frequent the West Covina location, maybe 3-4 times out of 7 days..and THIS location, that has an extra window, has a slower time. I was only 2 cars back from the window, with no one behind me, at 530pm. ADDITIONALLY, they didn't give me my side of chillies and spread, light well fries were salty as hell, and its all LOGGED ON THE RECEIPT. My 3x3 protein style burger only has 3 chillies in it, and the cheeseburger had none. FURTHERMORE, what seemed like either a lead or a manager was standing there with their polo shirt unbuttoned. Even if you were getting off shift or about to, that's pretty unprofessional, especially in a business that operates in the food industry, within a few feet of where food is being cooked. The best you got was a 3, I should be giving you a 2. -Your neighborhood HR person.

In-n-Out is my favorite burger and I have never been disappointed with the food, this visit being no exception. I will discuss the food then provide pros and cons for eating on the patio here.

First of all, there is a reason why the double-lane drive-thru spills onto the street. The food is delicious. The burgers are fresh and juicy with no after taste. The cheese is real, thick American that produces generous melt. The soft buns are warm, smooth, and fluffy. The lettuce is crisp and the tomatoes are ripe and flavorful.

The French fries are hand-cut with fresh potatoes, which I love. To me they are tasty and fried to golden perfection. However, some people are used to processed fries and do not like the natural taste of real potatoes. Some of my family believe they are soggy, but I disagree. The fries also have a small amount of potato skin, but I love that.

Regarding this location, it is located on a very busy corner, which gives dining at this location some pros and cons.

PROS: Fun vibe, LOTS of people on Saturday night. It's almost a party here with the wide variety of people. There are couples on dates, families getting together, young people hanging out, and all manner of folks in between. The food is delicious and being outdoors can be refreshing. There is a nice view of the suset.

CONS: The wait was nearly a half hour to get our food. There were many people who walked up and the drive-thru was over full. There is NO indoor seating at this location, so you must eat outside or take it to go.

This location has a separate full kitchen so workers are always bringing fresh items and supplies across the driveway in buckets and trays, carrying them or wheeling them to and from the booth, around the customers and the drive-thru traffic.

Eating outside also entails dealing with all the exhaust from the multitudes of idling cars and the pests - bugs and birds - while you eat. You must also contend with the people. For example, one man on a bicycle approached the counter. He was not homeless, for he had on brand-new sneakers and a nice watch, but he had a backpack and appeared under the influence. He meandered over to the bushes and turned his back. I thought he was urinating facing the heavy traffic on Van Buren, but then I saw a vape cloud and smelled marijuana and he wandered back over to wait for his food and started coughing and hacking uncontrollably.

A middle aged lady wearing stretch pants sat next to me while we waited patiently for our food. I kept getting the feeling that she was looking at me but when I turned, she looked away. Then one of the kids grabbed my arm and said, "That lady keeps staring at me and it's making me uncomfortable."

In addition to the people, you will hear the rushing traffic on nearby Van Buren, which is somehow disproportionately represented by throaty sports cars and whining motorcycles revving and accelerating constantly. It is difficult to have pleasant conversation over dinner here. Ultimately, the wait took so long that the weather changed and we left our jackets in the car, so we went there to eat and locked the doors.

Overall, for this location - especially on a Saturday night - I recommend the drive-thru and...
