Found a tiny kitten in our yard and tried to drop her off at petsmart, I was told by the staff that I would need to take her to the animal shelter because she would need her shots before she could be adopted. I drove to the shelter in Corona because I was close by , the staff was not very welcoming, We were told because we found her in Riverside, we would need to take her to the Riverside shelter. I drove to the Riverside shelter and while I was waiting to be called to hand her off, an officer walked up to me, rubbed her little head and picked her up, he informed me that if she were under 2lbs, she would be Euthanized. He took her to the back and weighed her, she was only 1.2 lbs, He informed me that he would check in with the lady that runs the foster department at the shelter to see if she would make exception; he came back stating she had left for the day. I was terrified, I could not leave her there to be killed, my kids were devastated. It was almost 5 , I knew most businesses would be closing soon and it would get dark, I know nothing about cats, and wouldn’t know her to care for a new kitten. I got on my phone while at the shelter and typed in cat adoption center, Room 8 memorial came up. I called, spoke to a gentleman who I explained everything to, he instructed me to take the Kitten to his wife, he was so kind and took the time to carefully give me directions to their house. I got to the house, his wife and another lady came out, they were very welcoming, she happily took her from me asking if there were more. She held her and rubbed her with so much care, I left happy. Very good...
Read moreRead moreSo unprofessional!!!:| I went into Petco to adopt a kitten and I met one of the ladies running the cat foundation. I explained to her how I have cats of my own and how I was looking to adopt another and she lied and said the adoption age was 21 when it is clearly 18 in the state of California. Not only that, but she was incredibly rude and talked down on me when I inquired about the kittens shots and deworming process. She switched up on me so fast when I told her I was almost 21 and demanded to speak to my mother if I wanted to adopt, which I think is ridiculously outrageous. I would have respected her decision to deny me adoption if she wasn’t so incredibly rude and condescending. She even went out of her own way to scold me about my own cats at home seeing as they are outside cats even after I told her I was looking for a cat to keep inside only. Absolutely do not recommend this place because of their service BUT the kitties...
For starters this place is amazing and should really consider adopting from here. I've had a lot of cats in my life but I have to say the cat I got from here is one of the best, loving and well trained cat I have ever had. I had been looking for a cat for a while and I saw Scooter in their site and instantly fell in love with him and have been ever since. I don't want to imagine what would have happened to him if they wouldn't have saved him from the pound. Also I recommend you go here if you hadn't had a cat in a while or just want to adopt a cat because they show you what food and litter you should buy and tell you the do's and don't of owning a kitty. They overall just prepared me more on adopting my cat and made everything easier. I also love how if something was to happen to me or if I couldn't take care of him anymore I could always take him back and know he will be well...
