If your animal is here, beware get them out right now! This place is full of illness and your dog or animals will come home sick! My dog got out while my husband was doing yardwork. He realized his mistake very quickly and started looking for the dog, but had to pick our son up from school. As soon as they got home, they went out looking for him. Somebody got our dog immediately. Held them for less than 10 hours, put up one sign and posted nothing On any of the websites or ring, even though we were desperately posting. Within less than 24 hours of our dog being missing, we found a sign called the number and were informed that our dog was taken to the pound. It was Friday at 5 o’clock unfortunately Jurupa Valley animal shelter was already closed and did not open until Tuesday at 10 AM. So our dog had to stay in the pound until Tuesday at 10 AM where I then found out that I could not get my dog back until he was neutered and fully given his shots. Against our wishes, they neutered him. We now have him back home and he is so sick. I don’t even know what to do. He is coughing, sneezing, and snot is pouring out of his nose. I have never seen a dog cough as bad as I am watching now. What is worse is it is spread to our other dogs now and they are all sick and coughing. I 100% expect that they should have told me to keep this dog quarantined from any other dog that may be in our home but they didn’t do that. They didn’t inform me of anything regarding illness in their facility, and they know about it there is no way the other dogs in that facility are not sick.One of our dogs is very elderly and I truly believe she is not going to survive this. The dog that they neutered who was in the Pound has lost half of his weight his bones are showing and I need to take him to the vet this morning because I am truly scared about his cough. He is not acting the same anymore. He won’t eat, and all of our dogs are now sick. Do not get a dog from the shelter. Do not take your animals here. This place is disgusting and dirty. I will be getting a hold of them first thing on Tuesday morning. I am scared. I’m going to lose my dogs because of this place and because of one disgusting individual who took my dog to this place after less than 24 hours of having him and now I fear I’m gonna lose multiple dogs because of it. Keep your dogs away from this place! Update* they don’t care at all. This place does not care about your animals. They don’t care about animals in general. They’re sending home sick animals from their facility to infect other animals in your home without informing you that there Has been some sort of Outbreak . I waited a couple days to try and calm down so this was much worse to me than it sounds in this review but didn't want to be reactive. I called 20 minutes before closing friday and was on hold for 16 minutes (no big). The lady who answered is where it goes wrong. I explained I was told to call them by riverside animal hospital b/c they could tell me where I'd find affordable care for my mini aussie. Shes at that age and things have started to malfunction for Lack of a better word. I hardly could phrase the question b/c my dad adopted her right before he died, so I'd lose more than just her. But I didn't even think they would be an option. She answered before I got the question out and said they charge $50 but on certain days and certain times. My 1st thought was I wonder why it's so cheap. Is it so routine theyre indifferent about causing pain I asked if there were any add ons I could purchase like a paw print. Kind of desperate to hear a bit more humanity in her voice so I'd feel better about them. She said "no, it's 50$ for us to DISPOSE of IT." Dispose? So you consider them to be garbage? Imagine the imagery that has caused? In disbelief I asked if that's really what they call it but she didn't say anything else except goodbye. I thought maybe I'm being too sensitive but discussing it w/ others, I'm justified. This is a terrifying and painful process for the owner who loves their pet and the pet doesn't need extra anxiety. "beggers can't be choosers" ok...but even if it was totally free, someone's trusting you to help a loved one pass on-show some compassion. It's not a ferrel dog found dead on the street. I wonder if this place would allow me to stay. I also learned about all the mishaps that can occur b/c a vet doesn't care. Obviously this woman doesn't care. Why would I think that the rest of the Staff is any different? Even if that wasn't the intended tone. I brought in the wondering neiborhood cat that needed help. He was very skinny and his leg had an infected wound. It was walking and I had fed it a good amount right before taking it in. He ate the food very fast and was starving. I didn’t have money and felt the urgency to find help for him. I considered trying to help him myself but decided he needed professional help. Not knowing much about this place I surrendered him hoping they would give him ivs and antibiotics and help him out. They put him down the next day. They said he wasn’t walking and not eating. Both which he was doing the day before when I brought him in. They said he was dehydrated and deemed him suffering. I’m figuring they didn’t even attempt to give him Ivs and help him recover. It sounds like they quickly made the decision to put him down. I deeply regret bringing the cat here thinking they would try to save him. I read the reviews the night before and felt sick to my stomach knowing what they probably had done. Sure enough when I called she said “he’s deceased”. No explanation or kind words. Don’t bring in any cats in any kind of negative condition here because they will quickly make the decision to put them down and not give them a fighting chance. Now I have to live with the what ifs and heavy heart knowing I trapped and surrender the neiborhood cat to this shelter only for it to quickly be put down. It’s unfortunate that no one else was taking care or feeding the cat in the neiborhood which led to him wandering in my backyard sick and leaving me to make a decision on the spot.
