Los Brothers Mexican Food — Restaurant in Kalamazoo

I would give this place 6 stars if I could. AMAZING Mexican food so far. The biggest downside is that I always over eat when I go here, jajajajaja. The value is just excellent.

You MUST try the chicharrón con napoles, straight up chefs kiss. The elote is really good too, the corn isn't roasted but still gets the job done. All of the tacos and tamales are good.

So to qualify this. I have been to México and Texas a few times, this place would probably be a 3.5-4 star spot there but in Kalamazoo it's a 6. So if you are foodie looking for legit Mexican food you will be happily surprised considering you are in Kalamazoo, but if you just came back from Mexico city, Dallas, cozumel, or Tulum then I might skip it and wait a few weeks to go. I have already eaten here 3 times in two weeks.

When they first opened the food was GREAT! Now days… we RARELY go, the rice looks as if it were cooked by a child. Always very overcooked! So we stopped going an after going today I don’t think we would come back! This is the 4/5th time the rice has looked and tasted over cooked. It used to be the best place in town to get Mexican.. we also ordered refried beans with Mexican cheese on it. We asked if they could put extra on it, they said they normally don’t but they would put some on it. When we clarified we would like extra… they said we’ll put enough… enough to them must have been less then 1 tablespoon… if I’m paying for it please add extra! The friendly greeting at the door was refreshing. However, I'm not even close to satisfied. These taco shells are more than half empty. Everywhere I've gone understands that prices of everything have gone up, therefore, we as consumers are also burdened with the added costs. That being said, the restaurants are always doing everything they can to give us the every bit of value for our money. Not Los Brothers. If I add all the filling together it will equal 2 tacos from neighboring restaurants. The prices for the steak tacos I bought were competitive with the surrounding places with similar menus. The food tastes good. What little bit I was given.
