The Raven — Restaurant in Kalispell

We came here one day when we were touring around Bigfork with some of the locals, some friends of ours, and on the way back home from a wicked awesome bison preserve, we stopped here for lunch, at the recommendation of our friends. So glad we did. First of all, the view. The view off the deck of Flathead Lake was beautiful, and it was really cool watching the boats dock and come grab a bite to eat.

The service was ok. I think they were understaffed. But no major issues overall. She was really nice. We all got settled in, got our drinks, ordered some apps. I ordered the Blue Corn Chips and Salsa (Our House-Made Roasted Garlic-Tomatillo Salsa and Blue Corn Tortilla Chips). They were fine. Pick another app, if you're trying to decided between a few.

For my main, I had the Bison Cowboy Burger (Local Bison Patty, Cheddar, BBQ Sauce & Bacon). All over the part of Montana we were in, bison burgers were everywhere. And thank goodness, because they are delicious. A nice sized patty, smothered in cheese, some fresh veg, and some of the best sweet potato fries I've had at a restaurant in a while. So good.

I also got to try the Candied Bacon Bleu Burger (We Turned Bacon into Candy and add Bleu Cheese for one Amazing Burger Combo). Even if the bacon was candied, there was so little of it, you couldn't even tell. But the rest of the burger was aces. A great, tangy bleu sauce on top of a well charred burger patty. Another great burger.

My wife and I love this place. My family grew up on Flathead Lake and up until a few years ago we were locals. We convinced my older brother and his wife to join us on a Sunday night for dinner and live music. The weather was fantastic and we were in the mood for a view and some great food. The place was busy when we came but there were still 2 tables open. We sat and were completely ignored for almost 30 minutes. We moved to a new table and flagged a server down. At this point we were there almost an hour, although someone brought us glasses and a bottle of water. The waiter said they were an hour behind in the kitchen and recommend we get our food order in ASAP. We did and enjoyed a few drinks. And hour went by, no appetizers or food. The second hour went by and we were getting very frustrated. The server was stopping by less . Finally we got the chips and salsa and were told our food was coming soon. Another hour later we were still waiting. The server talked to a man, we assumed the manager, and he said he was sorry and the food would be on the house. We finally got the food and the burgers were over cooked and the fries were cold. Nothing like the quality food I’d had only a few weeks before. The experience was horrible and I question if I would ever give them another chance. We left Kalispell at 5:30 PM and got home at 10:30 PM. I’ve never sat in a restaurant so long in my entire life...

Honestly had a terrible experience. I was so excited to visit this place and eat on the deck. For some context, I am 23. I frequent bars and enjoy eating out when I travel.

First off the music was ridiculously loud. There was ZERO shade on the balcony. It was 68 outside but we were getting roasted still. The drink I had was the lake water and it wasn't great... The server didn't speak any English really, and when I tried to ask about Margs I didn't get an answer because he didn't understand. He was nice but it was frustrating. I feel like english and communication is an important part of serving. Now here is the worst part. We waited 50 minutes for food and didn't even get our appetizer. I ended up telling them I just wanted to pay for my drink and go. The bar wasn't honestly that busy, and they couldn't keep up.

Honestly this was the worst bar experience I've ever had. I've been to some busy bars and I've never had such bad service.

Oh and to top it all off, the other customers were either loud drunk girls or older boat guys drunkenly trying to hit on them. It was so loud I couldn't think straight. Granted that's normal-ish for a bar, but something about the extra loud music and the echo inside made it worse.

But yeah wish I hadn't even gone. And we drove 30 minutes out of...
