JR’S CHICKEN — Restaurant in Kankakee

My husband and I like a good fried chicken but through the years, it's been hard to find a decent place that makes chicken that is tasty - either it's greasy, it doesn't taste good, or just something's "off" about it. And forget the "fast food" type places - yuck!! I work in the Bourbonnais area and live almost 1 hour away. I was introduced to JRs Chicken several years ago through my work and let me tell you...OH BOY! This is TRULY the best tasting chicken I have EVER had - anywhere! I try to eat there once per week now for lunch. The variety is amazing, the food is ALL delicious (never had anything bad there yet), and the staff is truly helpful, kind, and professional. It's clean inside if you want to eat in the dining room, it's totally affordable, very delicious, and just is plain "down-home" cooking. Go if you get a chance, or like us, bring it home to the family...they won't be...

Kyle is just a very polite and professional speaker on the phone. He parts his hair with the traditional Hammer Skin or WRPC. However You need to realy think about the sides and chicken pieces. His associate will not find or recommend a good deal. The glibe comments are just swell though and a poor attempt of humor. I did note Kyle's attentiveness to me and his sales associate conversation working the register. He even said so on the phone when I called and that he noticed some irritation but could not pick up the conversation. He did not ever approach so his true concern was in his words not his actions. So in short. Look at what your buying the sides and total cost. In the end Popeyes is the bigger bang for your buck. Also you can choose all dark on a meal. JR is the only place for chicken it is the greatest chicken I have ever had. I enjoy going to the buffet I Bourbonnais Street. The chicken soup is one of my favorite things it can't be be not even by my own homemade. The macaroni salad is uniques totally unique. One thing I could do without though is the large bones with hardly if any meat on them and barbecue sauce I know I'm not the only one that has an issue with this because I've heard many comments in the restaurant itself on Tuesday's the day that they have these out. I'm suggesting that they replace it what some type of doable light up not bones. Been going there for years will continue to go there for years anyone that I take their really enjoys it the obvious is what they would call probably a dive but the service is sweet genuine and caring and the food...
